5:00 PM PT -- Tyrese was released from custody Monday after his attorney Tanya Mitchell Graham filed an appeal of the judge's ruling ... according to law enforcement sources.

We're told the appeal means Tyrese did not have to pay the $73K before he was released. That does not mean he no longer owes the back child support, it's just delayed, for now. It's the same legal maneuver Tyrese and his attorney made last year when the judge ordered him to pay up the child support.

Tyrese Gibson is in custody for failing to pay the amount of child support ordered by the court ... TMZ has learned.

The singer/actor -- and dad to 5-year-old Soraya with ex-wife Samantha Lee -- was in Fulton County court Monday morning to face the judge in the ongoing child support battle, and the hearing did NOT go well for Tyrese.

Judge Kevin Farmer was clearly fed up with Tyrese's refusal to pay the $10K/month Farmer ordered him to start paying way back in April 2023 -- so, today he held Tyrese in contempt of court, the bailiff put him in handcuffs and marched him out of the courtroom.

Jack White is following through on his warning to Donald Trump ... by filing a lawsuit over his famous song, and claiming his anthem is being hijacked by the former president.

The White Stripes singer just filed suit against Trump and his campaign for using the tune "Seven Nation Army" in a social media clip of the Republican nominee boarding a plane on the campaign trail.

In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Jack says he did not clear the song for use by the Trump campaign ... and he says Trump and his camp should have known better, because in the past Jack has publicly denounced Trump.

Bryan Kohberger's murder trial will officially be moved out of the college town where 4 students were notoriously slain ... a judge recently ruled.

Judge John C. Judge issued the order after a hearing last month, when Kohberger's defense team argued their client would not get a fair trial in the small Idaho town of Moscow.

Kohberger's lawyers claimed the amount of media scrutiny surrounding the case from press, internet sleuths and more created a risk that BK would not get an impartial, fair jury ... since jurors would be made up of people who've likely consumed the constant coverage.

TMZ's obtained legal documents detailing the lead-up to the porn star's arrest ... with an officer saying a white 4-door Lexus came to his attention when he spotted it driving over the speed limit.

He claims he checked the license plate and discovered the car had expired tags, at which point he pulled the vehicle over. The officer says that's when he noticed a THC vape pen on Kendra's lap -- she was sitting in the passenger seat -- and asked for her ID.

Jeannie says their divorce settlement calls for Jeezy to pay her for daycare costs and school tuition for their child, deposit at least $500,000 in an interest-bearing account for the kid, transfer the title for two cars, and cover four months of her rent.

9/6 8:43 AM PT -- Hunter Biden followed through with his plans to switch up and plead guilty in his tax evasion trial. The judge ticked off each of the 9 charges against Hunter in court, with President Joe Biden's son repeatedly saying "guilty" to each one.

The judge scheduled sentencing for December 16 ... and in the meantime, Hunter will remain free on bond.

Hunter Biden is planning to enter a guilty plea in his controversial tax evasion trial ... the first son's attorneys have revealed.

President Joe Biden's son arrived at a Los Angeles courthouse alongside his wife, Melissa Cohen Biden, on Thursday ... but Hunter's trial is unlikely to last long given his decision to change his plea.

His attorney, Abbe Lowell, shared Hunter's decision to plead guilty in the federal courtroom, noting ... "Mr. Biden intends to change his plea this morning."

"Serial" subject Adnan Syed's legal battle drags on ... 'cause the Maryland State Supreme Court affirmed a lower appellate court's ruling reinstating Syed's murder conviction.

The highest court in Maryland upheld the ruling that determined Syed's case should be kicked down to the trial court to once again consider whether his conviction should stand ... essentially undoing the 2022 court ruling that overturned the conviction and set AS free.

The new hearing has not yet been scheduled ... but when it does happen, the family of his alleged victim, Hae Min Lee, will almost certainly be present in court.
