Carrie Ann Inaba took Val Chmerkovskiy's Will Smith joke as more than just a punchline ... telling show officials she felt threatened by the 'DWTS' pro ... TMZ has learned.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... Carrie Ann was so heated over Val's remarks, she told BBC Productions she was not happy about the post and wanted something to be done.

Another source tells TMZ BBC, who produces DWTS, launched the investigation after seeing the joke. The source would not confirm whether Carrie complained.

We're told Val was informed the production company had to follow its guidelines and protocols ... and he was subsequently suspended for one episode.

6:17 PM PT -- Halle Berry and Van Hunt were spotted leaving court hand in hand after a long day of proceedings ... with Halle all smiles as the couple made their exit.

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez refused to hold court with reporters on their way into court amid their nasty custody battle ... letting their 13-year-old son do all the talking ... under seal.

Halle was seen walking down the courthouse steps in a dark pantsuit and sunglasses, surrounded by cameras as she made her entry bright and early Monday ... but she was in no mood to answer questions.

TMZ also caught Olivier heading back into court after a lunch break in downtown Los Angeles ... but he wasn't in the mood to talk, keeping his mouth shut as he ducked back inside.

The Jefferson County coroner identified the man as Kurt Kralovec ... he fell from a bucket lift as he was putting up seasonal lights around the store Sunday afternoon ... according to WVTM 13.

The Leeds Police Department is investigating the incident ... and law enforcement says it's not entirely clear how Kralovec fell from the lift.

RJ Mitte's relationship with his fiancée, Kennedy Suarez, became increasingly strained after she moved to Georgia for work and he refused to follow her ... TMZ has learned.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... Kennedy initially lived with RJ at his home in Brownsville, Texas, before moving to the Atlanta area for work in late December. We're told her job was supposed to be remote, but she never returned to Texas full-time, and tensions escalated when RJ refused to relocate to Georgia.

Our sources say RJ had been struggling with his relationship with Kennedy since at least August, which they believe significantly contributed to his emotional decline in the months leading up to his death.

Sia and her estranged husband Daniel Bernad are finally putting their nasty custody battle in the rearview mirror ... reaching a settlement over their young son ... TMZ has learned.

According to court docs, obtained by TMZ and submitted by Sia's attorney, disso queen Laura Wasser, the former couple has agreed on a custody schedule for their son, Somersault Wonder Bernad, affectionately known as "Summi."

According to court docs, obtained by TMZ, a Los Angeles judge entered a $4 million judgment against the former Chargers linebacker and three other defendants earlier this month over the 2017 death of Kimberly Fattorini.

Conjoined twin influencers José Luis and José Armando Cevallos are dead ... and it sounds like they suffered a fatal medical emergency.

They lived in Ecuador, and their close friend, Fernando Carrillo, told local outlet Y Ahora Sonsoles that José Luis went into cardiac arrest, landing them in the hospital.

Carrillo says doctors stabilized him, but José Armando had a heart attack a few minutes later, and both twins died. Their social media account says they died Thursday.
