Ricky Gervais My Jodie Foster Jab Wasn't Offensive ... WAS IT?
Jodie Foster's sons got a good hearty laugh out of Ricky Gervais cracking a "beaver" joke about their mom at the Golden Globes -- at least Ricky thinks so.
We just caught up with the Globes host, and asked him about the double entendre -- which arguably outed Jodie -- and he said, "I don't think anyone thought it was offensive, did they?"
Well, Ricky ... we put a poll on the site and most people agreed with you -- only 21% believe the joke crossed the line.
As for Jodie's 13 and 10 year old boys hearing the shot? Check out the video ... Ricky seems to think they had a "good sense of humor" about it.
'Cause everyone loves mama jokes, right?

Golden Globes Did Ricky Gervais Just Out Jodie Foster?
Ricky Gervais basically called Jodie Foster a lesbian at the Golden Globes tonight.
It all went down during the opening monologue, when Gervais said he had been forbidden from discussing anything related to Mel Gibson, including his recent flick, "The Beaver" ... directed by Foster.
Gervais then joked about "Jodie Foster's 'Beaver'" ... saying, "I haven't seen it myself. I've spoken to a lot of guys here, they haven't seen it either. That doesn't mean it's not any good."
Foster -- who was in the crowd -- didn't appear to be too upset by the comment. She's never publicly discussed her sexual orientation.
So we gotta ask ...
Madonna Walks All Over Jessica Biel
Before ticking off Elton John's husband by winning for Best Original Song at the Golden Globes last night, Madonna got into another altercation ... by accidentally stepping all over Jessica Biel's unfortunate dress on the red carpet.
But Biel didn't feel the need to rant on and on about it on Facebook, as she and Madonna appeared to laugh off the fashion faux pas moments later.
No fighting over material, girls.

Rihanna Screw People's Choice I'll Be Across the Street
Rihanna totally blew off the People's Choice Awards in L.A. last night ... TO GO TO A CLIPPERS GAME ... (bet you didn't think you'd hear that 5 years ago).
And ... to add salt to the wound ... the game was right across the street.
We don't blame her -- the game was incredible ... with the Clips overtaking the Heat in overtime (suck it, LeBron) ... but enough about that ...
Point is, Rihanna actually won the People's Choice Award for "Favorite R&B Artist" -- but did she violate some unspoken code of ethics by skipping out on the show ... just to chill?
No. Because the "People's Choice Awards" are stupid.
Now here's a video of Blake Griffin dunking all over Miami last night.

Billy Crystal I'm Hosting the Oscars!
Billy Crystal just announced ... he's replacing Eddie Murphy as the host for next year's Oscars show.
The legendary Academy Awards host tweeted just minutes ago -- "Am doing the Oscars so the young woman in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions. Looking forward to the show."
As we previously reported, Murphy backed out from hosting the show yesterday -- after his friend Brett Ratner resigned from producing it ... following uproar over a homophobic slur Ratner dropped at a film screening.
This will be Crystal's 9th time hosting the Oscars.
