Move over, Lamar Jackson ... Jeff Hardy has a new favorite NFL player now -- thanks to Jahmyr Gibbs' Halloween costume tribute!!

We chopped it up with one-half of Team Extreme after Gibbs went viral for his 'fit at the Detroit Lions' holiday party this week ... and his efforts are being acknowledged by the man himself!!

"My mind was blown," Hardy said of the costume. "Lamar Jackson used to be my favorite NFL football player, so now I've got a new one."

The NFL isn't messing around this Halloween season ... with teams hosting extravagant parties left and right -- and the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles were no exception.

Brian Branch has just been suspended for starting that wild brawl after the Chiefs vs. Lions game on Sunday night.

The league announced on Monday it was banning the Detroit star for one contest without pay ... calling his actions, "aggressive" and "entirely unwarranted."

It's not yet clear if Branch has plans to appeal, though the NFL stated it is an option on the table for the 23-year-old.

The 28-year-old confirmed reports Monday morning, writing in an Instagram post that "the past couple of months have been very trying as I've come to the realization that my football journey is ending."

"I have given this team everything I have and I thought I had more to give, but I simply don't," Ragnow wrote, adding ... "I have to listen to my body and this has been one of the hardest decisions of my life."

Andy Isaac -- a popular Detroit sports fan -- has passed away after a nearly two-decade battle with cancer.

The announcement was made to his X account Thursday morning ... with his loved ones saying, "Andy passed away peacefully this morning beside his loving family. We thank you all for your support and love over the years."

The news comes on the heels of Isaac announcing he was entering hospice care, as his battle with the disease "has finally taken its toll on me, it has finally stripped me of my quality of life."

Losing Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn will NOT be the end of the Lions ... at least, that's what Calvin Johnson is saying -- as the Detroit legend tells TMZ Sports he's confident his squad will recover.
