Terrell Owens was down to come out of retirement and catch passes for Tom Brady in the quarterback's penultimate season -- but the Hall of Fame wideout says he got straight up ignored by the G.O.A.T. ... and he's still pissed over it.

Owens said on The Volume's "The Bubba Dub Show" he extended the offer to TB12 back in January 2022 ... a short time after Antonio Brown infamously walked out on Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during a game against the New York Jets.

Owens says he told Brady he'd be a good candidate to fill in for AB -- as even at 48 years old, he could still play effectively on third downs and in red zone packages.

Brandon Aiyuk's days in the Bay Area might be numbered ... 'cause the NFL star has officially requested a trade from the San Francisco 49ers.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo broke the news on Tuesday ... saying the 26-year-old wide receiver has asked the team to find him a new dance partner after an offseason of failed negotiations over a long-term deal.

Aiyuk is owed around $14 mil, from the 49ers this season, but with wide receivers seeing pay increases around the league ... the four-year pro would like to see his paycheck go up as well.

Former NFL star receiver Jacoby Jones -- who won Super Bowl XLVII with the Baltimore Ravens -- has passed away. He was only 40.

Ex-NFL quarterback Matt Leinart, and Jones' former teammate, confirmed the devastating news on Sunday, saying he's heartbroken over Jacoby's death.

"His laugh and just bigger-than-life personality will be something I'll always remember," Leinart said, "RIP brother."

Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy's recent remarks about his star player's DUI arrest have infuriated Mothers Against Drunk Driving ... who tell TMZ Sports the words were "irresponsible" and "dangerous."

The 56-year-old made the controversial comments at Big 12 Media Day earlier this week ... when he was asked why he didn't suspend Ollie Gordon II following allegations the running back drove while intoxicated in June.
