3:25 PM PT -- Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement to TMZ ... “Luis Hipolito was arrested for ASSAULTING an ICE law enforcement officer. Andrea Guadalupe Velez was arrested for impeding an arrest after she forcefully obstructed an ICE officer by making physical contact with him. Secretary Noem has been clear: if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Our ICE officers are facing a 500 percent increase in assaults against them while they carry out enforcement operations. These U.S. citizens actions kept ICE law enforcement from arresting the target illegal alien of their operation.”

Several law enforcement officers -- including at least one wearing ICE gear -- tackled a U.S. citizen to the ground and put their knees on his back after he allegedly punched an ICE agent in the face.

The incident went down Tuesday ... with bystanders recording multiple men -- including one wearing a "Police ICE" vest -- slamming a man in a white T-shirt and black pants to the asphalt, pushing his face into the curb as they wrestle to handcuff him.

It takes some time for the group to fully take him down ... and, at different times, the agents take turns putting their knees into the suspect's back -- while onlookers scream at them.

Country singer Conner Smith's traffic collision in Nashville sparked a flurry of 911 calls ... and, in one, a caller says the person who was hit was actually sitting up in the street after the crash.

TMZ has obtained audio from the aftermath of the incident ... and, it seems multiple people called 911 -- telling the operators a person was lying in the street after a truck hit them in a crosswalk.

One caller says the person -- who they say in the call is a man, but who was later revealed to be a 77-year-old woman named Dorothy Dobbins -- was actually sitting up in the street. It's unclear if she was doing so under her own power or if a person on the scene was helping her.

Viral video shows the moment a sheriff's deputy in Florida accidentally shot his partner in the back with a Taser ... and it looks painful.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says deputies were trying to make an arrest following a Saturday night traffic stop when the suspect, Kheilan Haynes, started resisting.

Footage shows two deputies tussling with a man on the ground next to a Jeep when one of the deputies backs off, pulls out his Taser and fires ... hitting his partner in the backside, causing him to stiffen up and crumple to the ground as the suspect runs away.

Karen Read's acquittal on murder and manslaughter charges caused uproarious applause in the streets ... but, two Massachusetts families aren't cheering -- because the public scrutiny from this retrial has "dehumanized" them.

The Albert family and the McCabe family -- friends of deceased Boston cop John O'Keefe, who Read's attorneys painted as murderers in the alternate theory they presented during trial -- sat down for an interview on "Nightline" ... their first public interview since O'Keefe was killed in January 2022.

In the interview, Christopher Albert said the five of them -- his brother Brian Albert, sister-in-law Nicole Albert, her sister Jennifer McCabe, and Jennifer's husband Matt McCabe -- have been turned into caricatures ... big bad villains instead of real people.

Shedeur Sanders is a household name in the football world, but at least one cop in Ohio couldn't recognize him earlier this month ... as new police video, obtained by TMZ Sports, shows an officer initially had no idea he was performing a traffic stop on Deion's son.
