The opening itself proceeded safely and without issue. The restaurant remains open and customers are still flowing in and out with excitement."
The opening of a new Marathon Burger -- the restaurant chain founded by the late Nipsey Hussle -- was marred when shots were fired near the event ... TMZ has learned.
The incident took place in downtown Long Beach Sunday around 3:30 PM PT ... and video is now circulating online which shows cops picking up a person and placing them in the back of a squad car.

Snoop Dogg and YG attended the event, but were gone long before the shooting began.

The armed man shot and killed by Secret Service agents outside President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago property Sunday had grown increasingly obsessed with the Epstein files and was also a vocal supporter of Trump … TMZ has learned.
Austin Tucker Martin sent a text message, obtained by TMZ, to a co-worker on February 15, 2026, that read, "I don't know if you read up on the Epstein Files, but evil is real and unmistakable." He continued, "The best people like you and I can do is use what little influence we have. Tell other people about what you hear about the Epstein files and what the government is doing about it. Raise awareness."
Sources who worked with Austin at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club in North Carolina tell TMZ ... he became fixated on Epstein following the latest release of information tied to the files. Co-workers tell us he was deeply disturbed by what he believed was a government cover-up and often talked about powerful people "getting away with it."

Rapper iHeartMemphis -- also known as iLoveMemphis -- was arrested early Tuesday morning after he streamed a dramatic standoff with Florida police during an apparent mental health crisis.
Plantation Police Department confirms to TMZ officers arrived at a residence Monday night, where the rapper -- real name Richard Maurice Colbert -- was armed and barricaded. Authorities successfully took him into custody on an active warrant for written or electronic threats to kill hours after they made initial contact.
Colbert was evaluated at a local hospital as a precaution and then booked into the clink. He is charged with making written or electronic threats to kill and for resisting an officer.
Trump On Alex Pretti Shooting We're Looking Into It, But He Did Have a Fully Loaded Gun!!!
President Trump is chiming in again on the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti by a federal Border Patrol agent in Minnesota, saying his administration is looking into the matter while also criticizing Pretti for carrying a "very powerful, fully loaded" gun.
On Sunday, Trump phoned Wall Street Journal reporter Josh Dawsey, telling him federal investigators are "reviewing everything" regarding Pretti's killing before they make a final determination. When Dawsey asked Trump if the Border Patrol agent who shot Pretti was in the right, the president dodged the question.
Trump then took a swipe at Pretti, saying, “I don’t like it when somebody goes into a protest, and he’s got a very powerful, fully loaded gun with two magazines loaded up with bullets also. That doesn’t play good either.”

A new video of the killing of Alex Pretti shows the interaction between him and a swarm of DHS officers from start to finish ... and, it batters the credibility of Trump officials who came out of the gates swinging, calling Pretti a domestic terrorist
The video shows Pretti directing traffic before it appears he is asked to move out of the street, which he does. As he walks toward the sidewalk, a DHS officer violently pushes a woman to the ground and Pretti moves toward her to help her up. Officers then pepperspray both Pretti and the woman and drag Pretti to the ground. He never pulls a weapon.
As Pretti is swarmed, you see an officer pull a gun — presumably the concealed weapon Pretti was carrying. A second later another officer fires nine shots at Pretti, killing him.

Asst. Sec. Tricia McClaughlin shared photos of an agent's bloody hand Saturday shortly after Alex Pretti's death at the hands of a DHS agent ... followed by a photo which appears to show the tip of his finger in a plastic jar.
These photos are intense, so click on them at your own risk ... but it's a gruesome and bloody scene -- which McClaughlin writes was caused by "rioters" at the scene.
Minneapolis Shooting Victim Seemed to Have Calm Talk with Agents Right Before Shooting
The shooting by federal agents of a U.S. citizen in Minneapolis Saturday has led to questions about what sparked the incident ... and we now have video taken just before the killing.
New video obtained by the Associated Press captures Alex Jeffrey Pretti speaking with a couple agents in the street right before he was gunned down.
Passersby in a car took the video ... filming the argument between Pretti and an agent, showing Pretti with his hands up in front of his chest. The exchange didn't seem to get physical until an agent put his hand on Pretti and started pushing him back toward the curb, though we can't be sure by this video who threw hands first.

Rasheed Walker -- an offensive lineman for the Green Bay Packers -- has been arrested on gun charges after he tried to check a bag at LaGuardia Airport which contained a firearm and ammunition ... TMZ has confirmed.
The 4-year NFL veteran was arrested at the New York City airport Friday morning and booked on 2 counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and 1 count of criminal possession of a firearm.
He appeared in Queens County Criminal Court and has been released on his own recognizance ... no bail necessary.
Walker's attorney, Arthur L. Aidala, tells TMZ his client mistakenly believed he could travel with his gun -- which is legally licensed in Wisconsin.

The man who allegedly shot New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd outside of a restaurant in November 2025 was indicted on several charges -- including attempted murder -- on Wednesday ... as the NFL player continues to deal with complications from the injuries he sustained.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr., announced on Wednesday that 20-year-old Frederick Green was charged in the New York State Supreme Court on one count of attempted murder in the second degree, one count of assault in the first degree, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
"As alleged, Frederick Green fired two shots outside of a restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, nearly turning a physical altercation into a fatal one," Bragg said.
