Les Moonves knows good TV when he sees it -- but he can also spot a turd ... and the CBS honcho told TMZ the 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards show was a bona fide stinker.
Les had his own table at the award show Sunday night ... where he watched disaster after disaster unfold on the stage ... culminating with producers giving Aisha Tyler the WRONG ENVELOPE to open during the Best Talk Show presentation.
"You know what ... it wasn't a very well produced show and you can put that on the air," Moonves tells TMZ.
But there was a silver lining for Mr. Moonves -- check out the video to see why Les was THRILLED after the show.
Carrie Fisher treated the Daytime Emmy Awards like an AA meeting at a comedy club -- cracking drug jokes about Ozzy Osbourne ... and nearly making us forget the slew of blunders and miscues during the show.
Kim Kardashian and her brand new baby girl are both "doing great" ... and the kid is friggin' BEAUTIFUL ... this according to Kris Jenner.
Just one day after Kim gave birth, her mom Kris hit the red carpet at the 40th Annual Daytime Emmys in Beverly Hills yesterday and talked about the newest addition to the Kardashian family.
"We're all fine ... we're all good ... and extremely happy and thrilled for the new baby," Kris told HLN’s Showbiz Tonight. ... "She's doing great and she's beautiful."
TMZ broke the story ... Kim gave birth Saturday in L.A.
Someone's probably getting FIRED at the Daytime Emmys this morning ... because when Aisha Tyler went on stage to present her award, someone gave her the WRONG ENVELOPE!!!
Aisha's reaction when she opens the envelope is priceless -- because she quickly realizes the name printed inside wasn't even nominated in the Best Talk Show category.
What ensues is pure live TV gold ... with Aisha vamping like a pro while the producers scrambled to get her the correct envelope.
Here's Rihanna (left) out and about in London last night ... and Taylor Swift (right) posing on the red carpet at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto.

George Lucas thinks he won an "NCAA" award for his movie "Red Tails" ... which is incredible since he neither rebounds nor shoots well from the paint.
Lucas was accepting his first Emmy for his animated series "Star Wars: Clone Wars" ... when he TRIED to reference the NAACP award he won earlier this year for his WWII drama about the Tuskegee Airmen.
He ended up making a worse mistake than "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."
Most 17-year-olds feel pressure to get into a good college, but not Abigail Breslin ... the teenage A-lister has $100,000 riding on whether or not she can nab an Academy Award from her upcoming flick.
According to Abigail's minor's contract -- recently obtained by TMZ -- the lil star was paid $75,000 for two weeks worth of work on a film called "August: Osage County" shot last fall. It also stars Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts.
Now here's the interesting part ... in AB's contract a special clause was added just for awards ... which states if Abigail wins the Golden Globe for best supporting actress she nabs a $50,000 bonus.
There's more ... if Abigail wins an Oscar she gets ANOTHER $50,000. And if she wins both, they throw her the whole shebang. Plus all that other stuff like: respect, honor, esteem, ... yadda, yadda.
Of course with moves like these, it's in the bag ...
Houston we have a Tang problem ... Buzz Aldrin says his anti-Tang comment was blown WAY out of proportion and he has no problem with the spaceman juice.
Our photog ran into Buzz at LAX on Friday and just had to know what was up with his "Tang sucks" declaration while presenting during Spike TV's Guys Choice Awards.
The 2nd man on the moon gets was a little annoyed about the whole thing and said his comment was just a joke ... not meant to be taken seriously.
Buzz also explained how he allegedly enjoyed Tang up in space ... and it sounds way more gross than this old-timey commercial leads on.
Philip Seymour Hoffman was all smiles at the 2013 Envision Awards in NYC yesterday ... the first major event the actor's attended since leaving detox for narcotic abuse 3 weeks ago.
Hoffman was clutching a bottle as he walked the red carpet ... but fear not, it was just some sparkling water.
We broke the story ... Hoffman entered a detox facility on the East Coast for a 10-day stint back in May ... in an effort to curb a drug problem that was spiraling out of control.
The 45-year-old Oscar winner had struggled with substance abuse in his early 20s -- but kicked the habit for 23 years -- only to fall off the wagon more than a year ago. PSH told TMZ the problems started with pills and escalated to snorting heroin.
Hoffman got treatment to nip the problem in the bud -- and went back to work on a movie a couple of weeks ago.
FYI -- Hoffman attended the event to honor Michael Barker and Tom Bernard, Co-Presidents and Co-Founders of Sony Pictures Classics (pictured above).
8:55 AM PT -- NPH just tweeted ... strongly DENYING he dropped the N-word.
"I would NEVER be so disrespectful," he wrote.
So what DID Neil say? Still unclear.
Neil Patrick Harris opened the Tony Awards by bringing Mike Tyson out on stage and dropping the N-WORD right in Tyson's face ... or at least that's how it sounds.
Tyson joined NPH while he was singing a song where he repeated the lyric ... "we're going bigger" -- but about 10 seconds after Tyson came out ... NPH sang something that sounds A LOT like the n-word.

We've played it back dozens of times, and can't come up with another explanation (listen for it at :16). We've called NPH and the Tonys. So far ... no word back.
Nelly, Darius Rucker, and Cowboy Troy hit up the CMT Awards ... on purpose -- proving country music is going the way of baseball, basketball, golf, and even hockey!
