Daejon Love, the man accused of posing as a 49ers player, was apparently trying to score points with a woman by offering up his thoughts on modern dating ... telling her he prefers to focus on one person at a time.

In the alleged audio message, obtained by TMZ, Love said he had gotten off dating apps because he didn’t want to juggle “hundreds of options” ... explaining he likes to give one woman his full attention.

Alphonso Smith Jr. -- a former NFL player and standout cornerback at Wake Forest University -- has died ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ Sports ... the former cornerback died by suicide on Wednesday at a housing community in Florida.

Alphonso's final Facebook post highlighted his unstable emotional state before his death.

In the post, Alphonso wrote, "Do not cry for me! I tried everything in my power to fight the demons behind the ones that someone put into ME! I did not want to be that WAY! I know I have disappointed so many folks. This is a DEMON in me! But not only me! It’s EVERYONE! I have HURT so many! I needed help & did not get it!"

The University of Akron is running an unheard-of promotion -- they're going to allow one special season ticket holder a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to call plays in a real game -- and head coach Joe Moorhead is explaining how it'll all go down!

TMZ Sports talked to Moorhead on Monday, who said the idea -- which rocked social media -- came straight from the athletic department ... who knocked on his door a few days ago with the wild proposal.

“I was busy, unironically enough, scripting some plays for fall camp practice and came to me with the idea of a promotion that would allow a raffle winner to be a part of our game planning process," Moorhead told us.

“And, you know, obviously I was a bit hesitant and skeptical, not having heard this before, but the more we talked about it, you know, we decided to give it a go.”

It looks like we're not going to get to see what happened when cops showed up to Kyle Shanahan's car crash ... because they're not releasing the body cam footage.

We submitted a public records request with the Palo Alto Police Department, which told us the video -- as well as the accident report -- are "exempt from disclosure" under the California Public Records Act.

A spokesperson for PAPD confirmed to TMZ ... "Nothing will be released related to this accident."

Jen Belichick -- who's married to Bill's son and UNC defensive coordinator Steve Belichick -- was allegedly clocked driving 88 mph in a 70 mph zone during a May traffic stop in Brunswick County, according to the California Post. She was cited for misdemeanor speeding and ordered to appear in court last Friday ... but prosecutors say she never showed.

As a result, a judge responded by issuing an order for her arrest.

According to the police report, officers responded to a call for a disturbance at 11:39 AM. Once they got to Nelson's room, cops say he answered the door and stated he was in an argument with the mother of his children.

In the docs, Nelson claimed the two were bickering over how another man -- who also fathered a child with his girlfriend -- was speaking to her ... and told cops he had anger problems that "seemed to flare up" when he addressed how the other guy was acting.
