Brian Kelly has filed a lawsuit against his former employer, Louisiana State University, nearly three weeks after he was fired ... and the former head coach is demanding his massive buyout be paid in full!

The lawsuit, obtained by ESPN, was filed in Louisiana on Monday ... where the longtime coaches' lawyers argue the university is trying to find a way out of paying the $54 million buyout, claiming LSU says he was fired for cause.

Everyone from Jon Gruden to Lane Kiffin's names have been bandied about in the wake of the Giants' firing Brian Daboll ... but former G-Men running back Rashad Jennings has his eye on another potential head coach with ties to the team -- Steve Spagnuolo!

"Out of all the coaches that have coached, I wouldn't be surprised if they asked Spags to come back to lock down that defense and get an offensive-minded coordinator to take over the offense," Jennings told Babcock, referencing the former Giants defensive coordinator (and briefly interim HC).

"But, you know, sky's the limit for them guys," Rashad added, alluding to the young talent on the Giants roster, including Cam Skattebo ... who is expecting to return to the field next season after suffering a gruesome ankle injury against the Eagles late last month.

Detroit Lions long snapper Hogan Hatten is denying he had a role in a spectator's decision to storm the field during Sunday's game against the Commanders ... saying he didn't utter a single word to the guy all night.

Video of the fan's stunt made rounds on social media ... and some folks claimed an interaction with Hatten caused the whole thing.

Hatten went to social media on Monday to explain that couldn't be further from the truth ... calling the claims "inaccurate."

Antonio Brown's fighting back against claims he tried to shoot and kill someone at a celebrity boxing match earlier this year, pleading not guilty to 2nd degree attempted murder ... an incident his attorney is adamant was nothing more than self-defense!

AB hired Mark Eiglarsh ahead of his trial ... and the lawyer sent TMZ Sports a statement addressing the altercation at Adin Ross' event, explaining he took the case because he "passionately believes in Brown's defense."

"The actions he was forced to take were solely in self-defense against the alleged victim's violent behavior," Eiglarsh said. "Brown was attacked that night and acted within his legal right to protect himself from an individual who had previously committed criminal acts against him. It's a privilege to represent him, and I am determined to ensure that justice is served."

It's been a horrible year for the Miami Dolphins, so Sunday's win was cause for serious celebration ... the Fins were livin' it up after upsetting the rival Buffalo Bills, from surfing on carts to breakdancing coaches!

President Donald Trump got a rough welcome at the Commanders stadium after flying in on Air Force One ... the crowd loudly booed him as soon as he popped up on the jumbotron.

Trump became the first sitting POTUS in nearly half a century to attend a regular season NFL game as the Detroit Lions visited the Commanders in Landover, Maryland Sunday ... but, that fun historical fact didn't impress fans.

A chorus of boos rang out when he was shown in the first half ... and later when the announcer introduced him by name at halftime and while he read an oath for military family members to recite during a game break. The reading was part of an enlistment ceremony no doubt tainted by the jeers.

Cam Ward's first NFL season hasn't really gone his way ... but former Tennessee Titan Taylor Lewan hasn't lost faith in the signal-caller -- telling TMZ Sports if he is going to succeed, ownership needs to stabilize the team!!

We chopped it up with the nine-year NFL veteran amid the Titans' 1-8 season ... and he said the abysmal record doesn't fall solely on the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

"There's so many holes around this Titans team," he said. "And I'm not even trying to be rude, there's just big, gaping holes where you're not a competitive team this year."

The Dallas Cowboys are paying tribute to Marshawn Kneeland after he tragically passed away on Thursday ... leaving flower bouquets at his locker.

Cowboys cornerback Josh Butler shared an Instagram photo on Friday that shows the current state of Kneeland's spot in the team facility.

"Love you dawg," Butler wrote.

Dak Prescott opened up on the death of his teammate, Marshawn Kneeland, on Thursday ... saying he wishes the 24-year-old "didn't have to go through what he went through."

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback addressed the tragedy at a field dedication ceremony at his alma mater, Haughton High School in Louisiana ... admitting it was a "very tough day" for him.

"Tragic loss," Prescott said. "I hurt. Heavy, heavy heart today. I hurt for Marshawn, I hurt for his family, I hurt for his girlfriend. I hurt for every single one of my teammates. It's just a pain that you don't wish upon anybody. You wish none of us had to go through this."

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are making the most of their time together during his week off from football ... living it up in the Big Apple and staying glued at the hip.

The power couple was spotted hand-in-hand Thursday for the second night in a row, grinning as they headed into Zero Bond -- a swanky members-only club in NYC.

Both came dressed to impress ... with Travis rocking a burgundy corduroy jacket with matching pants and a black tee -- finishing the fresh fit with gold chains around his neck.

Jamal Anderson, former Atlanta Falcons star running back, was arrested in Los Angeles on Tuesday after an alleged physical altercation.

Cops told NBC L.A. that they responded to a home in the San Fernando Valley for an alleged dispute around 11 AM. While there, they determined that the dispute began as a verbal argument but escalated into a physical altercation, with Anderson allegedly strangling the victim.

Jamal was eventually thrown in cuffs and hauled off to jail on suspicion of felony domestic violence. Jail records indicate he is currently being held on $50,000 bond.

The NFL world is paying tribute to Marshawn Kneeland following his tragic passing Wednesday night in Texas.

Micah Parsons -- who was teammates with Kneeland before being traded to the Packers during the offseason -- wrote on Instagram, “I’m sorry, little brother. I hope you find peace.”
