Janet Jackson is officially back to wow fans in Las Vegas ... and now we know exactly when the superstar will return to Sin City for a new residency.

As we previously reported ... JJ was in the final stages of signing a residency deal with Resorts World ... and the plan was for the show to kick off in December.

Now we know the deal is solid ... with Janet sharing via social media the residency will kick off New Year's week -- specifically Dec. 30 ... with tickets going on sale Aug. 28.

Shelia Jackson Lee – the Texas congresswoman who spent three decades in office fighting for Black rights – has died.

Her family issued a statement saying Lee passed away Friday, but no cause of death was given. They said while they were grieving for their loss, they had much gratitude for Lee's life.

In June, Lee announced she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, informing her constituents she would occasionally be absent from Congress while getting medical treatment.

Danny Trejo's infamous Fourth of July brawl is now with authorities as cops investigate it as a potential hate crime -- especially after the actor claimed he and his buddy were targeted because of their race.

LAPD sources tell TMZ a battery/hate crimes report has been filed to investigate the incident at the Sunland-Tujunga parade last week ... and authorities are aiming to get to the bottom of what happened.

We're told when cops arrived on scene, most people involved had already booked it ... and those who remained didn't want to lodge a complaint.

Ya gotta see the video of this instant karma moment -- the driver opens her door and starts berating a man in another car, slurring her words and accusing him of "spinning and swerving" and being a "f***ing d**k" behind the wheel.

The guy fires back, accusing her of being "drunk as f**k" and accusing her of being the one swerving. That's when she flies into a rage, and gets all the way out of her car to step up to the guy's open passenger window.
