Donald Trump gave an ice-cold response when asked about the slaughter of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi Tuesday, sweeping it under the rug while seeming to imply that he just wasn't very popular.

As you know ... Khashoggi was famously murdered in a Saudi consulate in Turkey in 2018 by men who reportedly strangled him and sliced him up with a bone saw while he was still gasping for air. The CIA determined Saudi leader Prince Mohammed bin Salman was the one who ordered the grisly slaying.

During his Tuesday visit to the White House -- MBS was asked the inevitable question by a reporter about why Americans should trust him given that he's widely considered to be the mastermind of Khashoggi's horrific murder.

Mark Epstein is cynical about the House of Representatives' vote to compel the release of the Justice Department's files on his late brother Jeffrey ... he says House Republicans are only agreeing to the action now because he says the Epstein Files are being edited.

In an interview on NewsNation Monday, Mark alleged ... “The reason they’re gonna be releasing these things, the reason for the flip is that they’re 'sanitizing' these files. There’s a facility in Winchester, Virginia where they’re scrubbing the files to take Republican names out.”

Mark assured the information comes from a "pretty good source."

President Trump is so annoyed by the Jeffrey Epstein scandal that he's resorting to personal attacks on reporters asking him about the notorious sex offender -- and he even called one journalist a pig!

As you know, Trump has been under tremendous scrutiny over his longtime association with Epstein -- including last week when the House Oversight Committee released 23,000 emails that pointed to the their connection.

The executor of O.J. Simpson's estate, Malcolm Lavergne, stopped by "TMZ Live" Monday and admitted the estate doesn't have enough to cover Fred Goldman's $57 million creditor claim ... but he says they'll pay what they can.

Lavergne told us bluntly, "The reality is the estate currently doesn't have that kind of money and, practically, the estate probably will never have that kind of money."

So why did the estate accept the multimillion-dollar settlement? Lavergne explained it isn't based on how much Simpson's estate can afford, but whether the claim itself is valid.

O.J. Simpson's estate seems one step closer to paying Fred Goldman money he's owed for winning his wrongful death lawsuit years ago ... because the estate's accepted a multimillion-dollar settlement.

Malcolm LaVergne -- the Simpson estate executor -- filed court documents earlier this week in which he accepts Fred's creditor claim in the "amount of $57,997,858.12 (U.S.), plus judgment interest on the approved amount."

Goldman originally asked for north of $117 million ... but, LaVergne argues that -- despite what he sees as a good faith effort on Goldman's part to determine an accurate amount -- the interest hasn't been calculated correctly.

President Trump says "somebody" is responsible for bringing white nationalist Nick Fuentes to dinner at Mar-a-Lago ... and that special someone is Kanye West.

Trump was defending Tucker Carlson's recent interview with Fuentes -- which has caused backlash among Republicans -- when he went down memory lane ... and things got funny, fast.

POTUS awkwardly referred to Kanye only as "somebody" who, unbeknownst to him, invited Fuentes to Mar-a-Lago a couple years ago for dinner. Trump then quickly identified that somebody as Ye.

A New Jersey neighborhood was shaken to its core over the weekend when a mass shooting erupted ... killing a 10-year-old boy and a 21-year-old woman, and injuring three others.

Cops in Newark say gunfire broke out around 7 PM when witnesses reported a burst of rapid shots followed by panic in the street. One woman said she heard more than six rounds and a lot of screaming before police locked down the scene.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office says two victims, the young boy and the 21-year-old woman, were rushed to the hospital but couldn't be saved. Three more victims, including an 11-year-old boy and two men, ages 19 and 60, are in stable condition.

The last of the US pennies were minted this week ... and experts now say the coins could be worth millions when they go up for auction next month, according to a new report.

As you know, the final 1-cent coins were minted Wednesday in Philadelphia after 232 years in circulation.

In December, those pennies will go up for auction, and the last 5 coins ever stamped could sell for a whopping $5 million each because they contain an omega symbol that reflects their special status, USA Today reports.

Senator John Fetterman's recovering after his nasty fall ... sharing a picture of his face after needing stitches to sew up his wounds.

The Pennsylvania representative posted the selfie to X Saturday morning ... saying he's back at home with his wife, Gisele, and their children after being hospitalized and getting 20 stitches.

In the pic, Fetterman's got healing cuts on his nose and one large gash above his right eyebrow ... though he's got a big smile and an iced coffee in the photo, too.
