The Tesla found in L.A. with human body parts that had been chopped up and left in the trunk is being investigated by LAPD's Robbery Homicide Division, and the L.A. County Coroner is trying to determine both cause of death and whether the victim is male or female.

The LAPD tells TMZ, the Tesla, owned by singer D4vd, was left on a public street for more than 72 hours. The L.A. Department of Transportation impounded the vehicle last Friday, and we're told it had not been reported stolen.

The car was taken to a police garage in Hollywood. The garage staff noticed a noxious smell on Monday, opened the trunk and found the remains in a bag.

D4vd -- a popular singer with millions of streams -- is alive and well after a chopped up and heavily decomposed body was found in a Tesla registered to him that was sitting inside a Hollywood tow yard ... we've confirmed the body isn't his, and he's OK.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... police are the ones who informed D4vd his Tesla was in an impound with a dead body inside, and he had no idea there was anything untoward going on.

We're told D4vd is fully cooperating with police as the investigation moves forward.

Dog the Bounty Hunter's son, who works as a police officer, will be taking a brief break from the force ... he's been put on administrative leave following his involvement in a fatal crash.

Priceville Mayor Sam Heflin tells TMZ ... he can confirm that a Priceville PD officer named Garry Chapman has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of an investigation -- standard procedure for a situation like this.

The mayor could NOT confirm if this Garry Chapman is the same as the son of Dog -- real name Duane Chapman -- who shares the same moniker. But sources familiar with the situation confirm that Garry is Dog's son.

The feds are going after the man accused of fatally stabbing Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska on a North Carolina train ... because the suspect has just been charged with a federal crime.

President Trump's Justice Department announced Tuesday the suspect in the fatal Charlotte light rail stabbing, Decarlos Dejuan Brown Jr., is charged with one count of committing an act causing death on a mass transportation system.

Federal prosecutors say the fatal stabbing happened August 22 on the Lynx Blue Line light rail in Charlotte ... and video shows a man in a red hoodie unfolding a knife and stabbing a woman who sat down in front of him.

El Paso, Texas police used a suspect as a human punching bag, beating the living daylights out of him over the weekend ... and it was all caught on video.

Check it out ... several officers are seen taking the suspect into custody with one cop kneeing him in the face and then repeatedly punching him in the back while he's kneeling on the ground.

The clip jumps to the same officer hunching over the suspect whose still down on the ground ... the cop slams his fist into the back of the suspect before pulling out a taser and zapping him.

4:14 PM PT -- Raymond Cruz has been released from police custody on his own recognizance and is due back in court Oct. 1.

Tough break for Raymond Cruz -- the actor who brought fan-fav villain Tuco Salamanca to life -- 'cause cops hauled him in this morning on suspicion of misdemeanor battery.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... someone called the police claiming Cruz assaulted their daughter -- allegedly blasting her with a garden hose.

A source familiar with the case tells TMZ ... Cruz was washing his car and asked the girl to move out of the way. When she didn't, she allegedly got sprayed and believed he did it on purpose.

Kelley Wolf got confronted by officers before deciding to check herself into rehab ... and it looks like it all has to do with an Airbnb stay gone wrong.

According to a police report -- obtained by TMZ -- deputies with the Summit County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence in Peoa, Utah, on Labor Day for a "keep the peace" call.

The report says the caller asked deputies to help remove a female tenant who they claimed had overstayed her time at the Airbnb.

Lola Doll -- a popular social media star -- is fighting for her life after being gunned down outside her home in South America.

According to the Guyana Police Force, the 33-year-old was ambushed Saturday around 11:30 PM while she was sitting in her car when a man on a motorcycle rolled up and opened fire, hitting her multiple times.

Police say she sustained gunshot wounds to her face, hands, right leg, and neck before being rushed to the hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

2:31 PM PT -- University of Kentucky's Public Relations and Strategic Communications Director Jay Blanton tells us Snelling "has withdrawn as a student and as a result is no longer on the team.”

Laken Snelling has dropped out of the University of Kentucky after she was charged in connection with an infant's death ... according to a local newspaper.

The 21-year-old -- who was a cheerleader at UK -- withdrew from the school, a spokesperson for the school told the Lexington Herald Leader.

No further information was provided ... though it's not exactly surprising given the criminal charges Snelling's facing.

Bryan Martin had a wild night onstage in upstate New York -- getting "forcibly" yanked off stage after what cops call a drunken meltdown.

The country singer was performing on Friday at the Schaghticoke Fair, about 30 minutes from Albany, when deputies say he started showing "signs of intoxication and erratic behavior." Cops tried to guide him offstage, but he resisted and had to be carried out.

According to FOX News, Mary Grace Westman -- the mother of Robin Westman, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after the bloodbath -- has retained criminal defense attorney Ryan Garry.

FOX News asked Garry why Westman hired a criminal lawyer, and Garry responded that she's "completely distraught," but is not complicit in the shooting, and needs someone to deal with all the media calls.

5:40 PM PT -- Kelley Wolf has been released from jail two days after her arrest, according to People.

Kelley Wolf is in trouble again with the law in Utah ... this time she landed in jail for two misdemeanors after posting a series of disturbing Instagram messages, TMZ has learned.

Kelley  — the estranged wife of "Party of Five" star Scott Wolf — was taken into custody Tuesday night and booked into the Summit County Jail for electronic communication harassment and electronic disclosure of personal identifying information.

She hasn't gone before a judge so no bail has been set. Police have not released a detailed narrative, but we've reached out to them ... no word back yet.
