Jeffrey Toobin says Joe Biden tarnished his legacy by pardoning his son, and Donald Trump cemented one of the knocks against him with his own slew of presidential pardons.

The lawyer, author and legal analyst joined us on "TMZ Live" Wednesday and he told us how presidents reveal their true colors when it's time to hand out pardons.

Jeffrey wrote a new book on the subject, "The Pardon: The Politics of Presidential Mercy," and says pardons are one of the few powers a president has that are free from checks and balances -- and that's why they tell so much about the men giving them out.

Several stars from the original "Last Chance U" seasons are going after Netflix ... TMZ Sports has learned the former footballers are suing the streaming giant for millions following claims they got screwed over and defamed.

Multiple players from the 2015 and 2016 East Mississippi Community College football teams, including Ronald Ollie and John Franklin III, filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles this week ... about a decade or so after they gained national notoriety from multiple episodes of "Last Chance U."

The documentary followed the athletes as they navigated through the rigors of EMCC seasons ... and according to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ Sports, Netflix and a host of other defendants, including the National Junior College Athletic Association and EMCC, netted some big profits after it all aired.

Greg Germann, best known for "Ally McBeal," has filed for divorce after 12 years of marriage, TMZ has learned.

According to legal docs obtained by TMZ, the actor filed for divorce from his wife Martha Champlin Tuesday, citing their date of separation as March 3, 2024.

Germann cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split, and is asking the court to nix any spousal support payments to her.

Veteran TV and film actor Peter Navy Tuiasosopo has died ... TMZ has learned.

Tuiasosopo's son, Manoah tells TMZ ... the actor died Monday morning in Phoenix, Arizona from heart complications. He notes Peter was "a trailblazer for Polynesian actors in Hollywood."

Tuiasosopo's son posted on Facebook ... "My dad lived an amazing life and in no way does his impact stop here ... His strength, love, compassion, and kindness will forever be felt."
