Celebrities continue to lose their homes amid the wildfires torching Los Angeles, and TMZ has learned of three more stars whose properties have been completely destroyed.

Jeff Bridges' rep confirms to us his Malibu home he shares with his family was tragically lost in the Pacific Palisades fire. The 4-bedroom home with views of the Pacific Ocean has been in the Bridges family for generations and was inherited by Jeff, his brother -- actor Beau Bridges -- and their sister.

Candy Spelling is also reeling from the tragedy after losing her home on Malibu's Pacific Coast Highway. Candy tells TMZ ... "I’m in shock and processing this massive loss for our family. I am beyond grateful for the memories. It was truly a wonderful gift to have."

Amid the chaos of the L.A. fires, it looked like firefighters were using anything they could find -- handbags included -- to douse a dumpster fire, but TMZ is here to debunk that claim.

LAFD officials tell TMZ the "handbags" seen in local news reports this week were actually canvas bags firefighters bring on their engines for various jobs. When tackling a small trash fire like the one in this video, it’s easier for them to quickly fill the bags with water and extinguish the flames, than it is to haul out a hose.

We’re told hooking up firehoses to hydrants takes time, and with fires spreading so quick, they’ve gotta act fast. The sooner they snuff it out, the better -- timing’s everything.

10:08 AM PT -- Jamie Lee Curtis posted some good news amidst all the destruction. The star and her family are donating 1 million dollars to the L.A. fire relief efforts.

Jamie Lee Curtis put on a brave face for her appearance on 'The Tonight Show,' but it quickly faded ... as she couldn't help but get choked up about the wildfires that have destroyed parts of Los Angeles.

The Oscar-winning actress sat down Wednesday with the show's host, Jimmy Fallon ... and almost immediately became emotional while discussing the devastation in her neighborhood -- the Pacific Palisades -- and other communities ravaged by the infernos that have claimed the lives of at least 5 people.

As Jimmy was about to start the convo, Jamie cut him off and dove right into the nightmare scenario unfolding in L.A., calling it "f***ing gnarly, you guys" as her voice cracked while on the verge of tears.

The Pasadena Humane Society is rushing to the aid of Los Angeles animals ... sharing photos of different critters receiving treatment for injuries sustained in one of the huge fires.

The shelter shared photos of a dog, cats and even a wild bird its staff tended to ... noting each needed treatment for burns sustained in the Eaton Fire -- the blaze burning out in east Los Angeles.

Check out the pics ... the animals look exhausted -- sporting singed paws and burns on their bodies. The Pasadena Humane Society says the dog was dehydrated and one of the cats in the photos is resting in an oxygen kennel -- the consequence of smoke inhalation.

Olympic swimmer Gary Hall Jr.'s home was destroyed in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires this week ... along with the many medals he won throughout his career.

The athlete's father, Gary Sr. -- also an Olympic swimmer -- shared the news on social media ... saying his son fled his Pacific Palisades estate amid the blaze.

He evacuated the home with only his dog, Puddles, insulin and some paintings -- including one of his grandfather.

There have been plenty of shocking images to come out of the Los Angeles wildfires so far — and one of them happened live on-air Wednesday night.

Check out video from FOX 11 news ...  the TV crew was filming a 4-story home fully engulfed in flames in Studio City around 9 PM when all hell broke loose during the live broadcast.

As the two reporters describe what they're seeing, the house begins to crumble right before everyone's eyes, collapsing to the ground.

The destruction wrought by the Pacific Palisades wildfire continues unabated ... we're seeing several more celebrity homes burned to the ground.

As we've told you, dozens of celebs have been evacuated from the devastated L.A. neighborhood since an out-of-control brush fire began Tuesday morning. Area hotels are booked to capacity as displaced residents seek a place to stay amid the nearby inferno.

Sources familiar with the situation tell us her beach house is completely gone after being burned to a crisp in the devastating Palisades fire.

4:05 PM PT -- The NFL says they're continuing to prepare as if Monday night's playoff game will go down at SoFi in L.A. ... however, the league says they're locked down an alternate site -- State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ -- in the event they're forced to move the game because of the wildfires.

The NFL says it's keeping a close eye on the wildfires that are currently ripping through Los Angeles ... as a huge postseason game is slated to be played in the city in just a few days.

The Vikings are scheduled to travel to Inglewood for a "Monday Night Football" matchup with the Rams later this week at SoFi Stadium ... but flames are now roaring just a few miles from the venue -- potentially putting the game in jeopardy.

For now, the arena and its surroundings are safe -- the blazes are all currently north of it -- and the game is still going on as planned ... but an NFL spokesperson told multiple media outlets Wednesday that certainly could change.

Desperate times for one man fighting like hell to save his home from the Eaton Fire ... he has no water and is going to try to put out a nearby blaze with bottled water ... unless a hero comes to the rescue.

The sad situation is playing out right now for a resident named Chris, who says he's been begging the fire department to come stop the flames that are right next door to his place.

Chris ran a few blocks to catch up with FOX 11 to make his plea ... he says his house is not yet burned but his neighbor's place is going up in flames -- and if he can't put out that blaze his residence is toast.

4:00 PM PT -- Whitney Cummings says she's most worried about losing her podcast studio to the devastating fires ... sharing video of the moment she decided to pack up and leave her home.

9:19 AM PT -- Whitney Cummings confirms she has reluctantly evacuated due to the speed of the fire ... saying she wanted to stay as long as possible to avoid adding to the clogged traffic, but she couldn't wait any longer. "This changes everything forever."

The apocalyptic wildfires in Los Angeles are putting horses in danger ... and Whitney Cummings is sharing tips for how to get the animals to safety.

Lots of folks keep horses in the areas going up in flames and dramatic new footage shows people going into the teeth of the Eaton Fire in Altadena to rescue their steeds ... leading them away from the blaze.

Whitney's trying her best to help ... sharing resources for equine evacuations and telling folks to tag her on social media if they need help finding a place to house their horses.

There are so many out-of-control fires ravaging the area right now, firefighters are stretched thin and folks are taking things into their own hands ... including Ashton.

The Chargers are stepping up to help those affected by the wildfires raging through Los Angeles ... by donating $200,000 to support the community.

The organization announced its contribution to the relief fund on Wednesday ... saying the money will go to several L.A. programs designed to assist evacuees, first responders, animal rescue and clean-up crews.

"While we're currently experiencing unprecedented conditions that seemingly cannot get any worse as we deal with multiple fires across our region, we're also witnessing our community at its very best," Chargers Chairman Dean Spanos said.

As devastating wildfires continue to tear through neighborhoods across L.A., displaced residents are scrambling to find shelter -- but many are coming up empty-handed as the city's most well-known hotels are at full capacity ... TMZ has learned.

We've spoken to folks at several hotels across the city who tell us they've been fully booked since Tuesday afternoon, shortly after flames began ravaging the celeb-filled Pacific Palisades neighborhood.

Among them, The Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills has reached capacity. While a few cancelations had freed up rooms early on, those vacancies were immediately filled by evacuees seeking shelter. The hotel is offering a 10% discount to guests affected by the wildfires.
