Dean Ambrose, one of the giants in the WWE, was almost attacked during a taping of Smackdown ... attacked by a guy some say was holding a sharp object which at least one fan says was a knife.
It happened right after the show in Providence. You see the would-be attacker come right for Ambrose, but a quick-thinking security uses a wrestling move of his own, body slamming him to the ground.
It's unclear what happened to the guy or what if anything he was clutching.
Dean was unharmed.

Hulk Hogan I Still Love WWE ... And I Wanna Be Trump's Running Mate
Two interesting comments from Hulk Hogan -- he's NOT mad with the WWE for cutting ties with him over the N-word ... and says he wants to make America great again, by running with Donald Trump!!!!
First, the WWE thing ... it's been more than a month since Vince McMahon wiped all traces of Hogan from the website after reports surfaced that he used the N-word in a racial rant years ago.
Even after several black wrestlers and celebs vouched for Hulk -- saying he's not a racist at heart -- Vince has refused to bring him back into the WWE universe.
So, how does Hogan feel about being blackballed? Check out the clip ... he views the situation more as a temporary "family" conflict and joked that the only "hard feelings" he's going to have is "when I get [Vince McMahon] in the ring again."
As for the Trump comments ... Hulk says he thinks the country is finally ready for Vice President Hogan, brother.
Are you?

Jon Stewart Powerslammed By John Cena ... Payback's a Bitch!
Good luck finding your moment of zen now ...
Jon Stewart -- whose old job was safely positioned behind a desk, never once attacked by a musclebound thug -- was powerslammed by John Cena last night ... hard.
The former "Daily Show" host appeared on WWE's "Monday Night Raw" where he was confronted by Cena ... who was still pissed at Jon for hitting him with a steel chair at SummerSlam this weekend.
They argued. Cena got mad. And then picked up Stewart ... twirled him around like a rag doll ... and then punished him with his famous finishing move, the Attitude Adjustment.
Fake or definitely fake ... getting thrown to the mat like that has GOT to hurt.

UFC's Brittney Palmer Hubby Won't Be Charged with Attempted Murder In Choking Case
The husband of UFC Octagon girl Brittney Palmer just got a HUGE break ... he won't be prosecuted for allegedly brutalizing her so badly he was arrested for attempted murder.
Aaron Zalewski allegedly choked Brittney within an inch of her life after an argument over a cell phone. She says he overheard her talking to a casting agent who called her "babe" and he went berserk.
Law enforcement sources tell us, Aaron Zalewski will not be charged with a crime. The L.A. City Attorney will hold an informal meeting with the two. If he owns what he did and shows contrition, he won't be prosecuted. The City Attorney could force him into anger management in return for dropping the case.
One string will stay attached ... if he does it again before the statute of limitations runs out, the City Attorney would have the right to file charges.
Brittney and Aaron are still together.
