Shifty Shellshock's friends and family are ready for his grand send-off ... plans for his celebration of his life are finalized, and TMZ has all the details.

The Crazy Town frontman is being honored Aug. 11 at Academy LA ... and some fans will be welcome to join Shifty's loved ones in remembering him and saying goodbye.

Pasquale Rotella, CEO of Insomniac Events, is organizing the event -- he's a longtime friend of Shifty's -- and there are gonna be DJ sets by Graham Funke, Lady Sinclair, Edski and Trixter.

Celine Dion will make a grand return to the Las Vegas scene ... we've learned she's going to launch a new residency.

Multiple sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... Celine is in the "final stages" of negotiating with Resorts World for a residency that will start either in late 2024 or early 2025. The negotiations have gone on for several months. As one source put it, "It's basically a done deal. She's doing it." We're told AEG will produce the show.

Our sources say this is all Celine's doing. She is determined to get back onstage to do live performances ... something she talked about at length in her documentary, "I Am: Celine Dion." One source tells TMZ, "This is all her No one is pushing her to do it. She has a passion for getting back onstage, and she's gonna do it."

Celine Dion will be teaming up with Lady Gaga to perform Édith Piaf’s classic "La Vie en Rose" at the Olympics' opening ceremony in Paris Friday ... TMZ has confirmed.

Thierry Moreau reported on X Wednesday ... Celine will be decked out in Dior, rocking a pink and black feather cape.

4:28 PM PT -- Turns out, Michael Jackson's estate doesn't think these drawings being attributed to MJ are the real McCoy -- in fact, they say they have reason to believe otherwise.

A rep for the estate tells us they do not accept these sketches as authentic -- noting they examined the artwork years ago and upon further inspection, felt even more dubious. They say they've relayed this to the auction house since then, and insist they haven't gotten any evidence that, to them, would suggest these drawings were done by the late icon.

Michael Jackson may be best known for his legendary singing career, but he was also quite the sketch artist ... and his signed drawings are about to be available for purchase.

The singer's rare collection -- which is made up of 78 sketch drawings of various images, including the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Queen Elizabeth II, Peter Pan, Andy Warhol, etc. -- will be auctioned off by Kings Auctions Beverly Hills partnered with Kings Auctions Las Vegas on August 3. The location has yet to be disclosed.

The auction will reportedly first welcome bids for the entire collection ... though, a $1 million opening offer is required or the auction will move to selling the pieces separately.

Sandy Posey -- who hit it big time in the '60s with her music career -- has died ... TMZ has learned.

The late pop singer's husband, Wade Cummins, tells us his wife passed away Saturday morning at her home in Tennessee -- this following complications from dementia, we're told.

Wade tells us Sandy had been battling dementia for a while now, with a slow decline over the past seven years. Aside from that, he says she was in relatively good health ... with no issues like high blood pressure or problems with any other organs.

Duke Fakir, the last surviving original member of the beloved Motown group the Four Tops, is dead.

The singer died Monday at his home in Detroit as a result of heart failure ... according to his family.

Duke's family tells his hometown newspaper, the Detroit Free Press ... "Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of a trailblazer, icon and music legend who, through his 70-year music career, touched the lives of so many."
