President Donald Trump has announced the creation of what he's calling Super Intelligence Force ... to ensure that Americans lead the way on A.I. ... and hopefully safely.
Trump made the announcement on his Truth Social platform ... and while he previously teased the creation of an A.I. Force, this time he actually shared who would be making up the group.
The taskforce will be spearheaded by 4 key officials -- National Intelligence Director Jay Clayton, FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Under Secretary of Defense Emil Michael, and OPM Director Scott Kupor.
11:22 AM PT -- Senator Tom Cotton has since responded to the prez writing ... "No one likes changing the clock, me included, but Congress has enacted permanent Daylight Savings Time multiple times before and repealed it each time once Americans experienced absurdly late sunrises in the winter. Arkansans don’t want their kids going to school in the pitch dark, and I’ll always put Arkansas first."
President Donald Trump then responded to his reply ... "If Tom Cotton were putting Arkansas first, he would give them an extra hour of daylight and, more importantly, they wouldn’t have to run all over their houses, farms, work places, and everywhere else, twice a year, having to change their Clocks, and often forgetting to do so."
President Donald Trump seemingly doesn't care if you're part of his party ... as he recently leaked GOP Sen. Tom Cotton's personal phone number on Truth Social.
Taking to his own social media platform ... the prez criticized Tom for single-handedly blocking his Sunshine Protection Act in the Senate.
The legislation -- that Trump referred to as the "We Don’t Want to Change Our Clocks Twice a Year Act" -- would make Daylight Saving Time permanent all year 'round.
Thomas Matthew Crooks -- the 20-year-old who clipped President Trump's ear during a 2024 rally -- allegedly texted with an "unknown contact" about 3D-printed parts ... a little over a year before the assassination attempt.
According to FBI Records obtained by Judicial Watch ... Crooks was texting with someone on February 9, 2023, who asked him ... "Did you 3D print the parts?"
The docs say the would-be assassin responded ... "Yes, except for the fan blades."
This exchange came after Crooks had sent something -- which was completely redacted in the records -- causing the mystery texter to say ... "woah that looks cool."
Donald Trump still hasn't decided who will replace Karoline Leavitt as press secretary ... but he's adding a reporter who’s caught his eye to his White House comms crew.
Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... Beni Rae Harmony -- a 24-year-old White House correspondent for Real America's Voice -- has been hired as a new spokesperson and assistant press secretary for the White House. She starts on Monday.
Harmony has recently become a regular in the White House press pool ... traveling to Ireland with Trump, who was seen on September 13 holding a stack of papers with what appears to say "Beni Rae Harmony" printed in bold at the top.
President Trump is giving Cornell the benefit of the doubt as the University deals with serious gang rape allegations ... and maybe it's one Ivy Leaguer looking out for another.
Trump -- a University of Pennsylvania grad -- was asked by reporters Thursday whether Cornell has done enough to investigate a former student's claim that she was drugged and sexually assaulted by Cornell frat bros.
POTUS replied ... "Well, I don't know that much about it, but I think Cornell's a fine school and I'm sure they'll do what's right."
Working for House Speaker Mike Johnson has its perks ... you can plan a wonderful trip to Italy and France on the taxpayers' dime, and even try to visit a Ferrari factory ... but getting there is the problem.
NBC News obtained a draft itinerary for Johnson's top aide, Curt Beaulieu, and other staffers from both sides of the aisle, in which they mapped out their whole European journey they had planned for mid-October... just weeks before the midterm elections.
The report says the bipartisan staff was not only planning to visit the Ferrari factory near Bologna, Italy, but they were also going to make pit stops at high-end brand stores in either Milan or Florence before heading to France's Champagne region.
President Trump was asked point-blank whether Mitch McConnell should resign over his health ... but he never actually answered -- instead, he lit into TIME for asking him "negative" questions and dropped an F-bomb.
Trump sat down with the magazine at the White House on Monday, and TIMEbrought up recent videos of McConnell back in the Senate before asking whether the 84-year-old Kentucky senator should step down because of his health.
Rather than weigh in on Mitch, Trump veered into Joe Biden's pardons before turning his fire on the interview itself ... telling the outlet, "You haven't asked me one f***ing positive question."
Nancy Pelosi is diving into the whole Cornell University alleged gang rape drama -- canceling a "fully-funded" event sponsored by the Ivy League school.
And get this ... Pelosi's cancelation is "related to the gang rape situation" that has resurfaced and is now plaguing the university, according to The Cornell Daily Sun, citing a source familiar with the matter.
The student paper reports that the Cornell Institute of Politics and Global Affairs announced the fully funded October 15 event on Tuesday afternoon with Pelosi as the star attraction.
Sen. Chuck Schumer says Cornell dropped the ball in the alleged gang rape scandal ... and he's putting the school on notice to get serious.
Jacob pressed the senator from New York at a press conference Wednesday about what went wrong between Cornell, campus police, and the local D.A. ... and Schumer didn't hesitate.
"A whole lot of things went wrong," Schumer said ... accusing Cornell of failing to move quickly enough once the allegations surfaced.
Sen. Elissa Slotkin, a Cornell alum, says her alma mater needs to "step up" in the alleged gang rape case ... and stop treating accountability like an afterthought ... because they've so far failed to protect women.
Jacobcaught up with the senator from Michigan on Capitol Hill Wednesday ... and she told him Cornell should have taken the allegations seriously from the jump.
Slotkin said universities have plenty of ways to take action and hold students accountable while a legal case plays out -- suspensions, expulsions, indefinite suspensions -- and made clear she doesn't consider writing an essay much of a punishment.
Senator Eric Schmitt's standing behind his line of questioning in the Jack Smith hearing ... even though it seems his "gotcha" moment totally backfired.
Here's the deal ... during a Senate hearing Tuesday morning, Senator Schmitt asked former Special Counsel Smith if he went to an Atlanta Hawks game on February 3, 2024.
Smith told him no and seemed totally puzzled ... and Sen. Schmitt seemed to gloat a bit -- claiming at one point that the dude might've just perjured himself and insisting they had text messages about him going to a basketball game that night.
Sen. John Kennedy has his own special version of ChatGPT -- well, technically the whole Senate does -- and even he doesn't seem totally sure where the information goes.
Jacobcaught up with Sen. Kennedy in Washington D.C. on Monday and asked about Bill Gates' warning that A.I. could become catastrophically dangerous in the wrong hands.
Kennedy said he thinks Bill is acting in good faith and pointed out there are serious risks with A.I. ... just like there are with nuclear weapons and bioterrorism.
Then Kennedy casually revealed he's already using the technology himself ... telling Jacob he used A.I. on the plane ride in to do research, something he does "all the time."
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino is popping champagne in an A.I.-generated party video ... and even fellow Republicans think the celebration landed with a thud.
Scavino posted the over-the-top clip Saturday showing him in a tuxedo alongside women who appear to be his wife, Erin Elmore, and Lara Trump, all riding a gold luggage cart through the White House as Eric Trump pushes.
Bill Gates is not holding back in his bleak prediction about the future of A.I. ... and is claiming that the technology has the capability to eventually kill a billion people.
During Sunday's episode of "Meet the Press" ... he told host Kristen Welker that if its powers are abused and unchecked, A.I. could perform dangerous actions that result in a death toll in the 10 figures.
He admitted ... "A.I. is certainly powerful enough to drive events that cause a billion deaths. So even though it’s pretty hard to get to 100%, there’s never been a weapon as powerful as the combination of people with ill intent using the latest A.I. tools."
Ed Sheeran was the target of a pretty scathing joke during last night's "SNL UK" opening monologue ... which compared him to an obedient puppet.
"Chicken Shop Date" host Amelia Dimoldenberg told the crowd ... "I’ve been incredibly privileged to have done so many interviews with people like Idris Elba, Cher, and even a world-famous, red-headed puppet with a hand up his arse telling him what to say."
After a pic of her interviewing "Sesame Street" icon Elmo appeared, Amelia said ... "No, the other one."
