Coachella's first weekend's still ragin', but some celebs chose to stay closer to home ... picking tuxedos and champagne instead of hard partyin' in the desert.

The 10th annual Breakthrough Prize Honors -- known in some circles as "The Oscars of Science" -- took place at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Saturday night and many of Hollywood's more "serious" stars stuck around for the festivities.

Kim Kardashian and her mom Kris Jenner took centerstage, of course ... wearing off-setting black and white ensembles while Elon Musk and Bradley Cooper kept it simple in traditional tuxes.

On Friday, Nicki and UK-based brand LØCI made their partnership official and debuted her Pink Friday footwear with a futuristic rollout and unveiled a pink low-top casual sneaker with red shoestrings and a portrait of Nicki's mug sealed on the tongue.

We're hearing Nicki's personally gravitated to the brand on account of her keen stylist sense and signed on as an owner and collaborator.

Now, Mikan's royal blue warm-ups -- pants and zip-up jacket -- worn around 1950 on multiple occasions and signed (twice) by the all-time great, are on the block at SCP Auctions.

The outfit reads "MLPS LAKERS" in gold block letters and shows heavy use, including sweat stains, according to SCP.

Mikan gifted the pants and jacket to someone in the '70s... and they held them for many years before recently deciding to cash in.
