Auburn lost to Texas A&M in dramatic fashion on Tuesday after a game-winning shot was waived off ... and Tiger fans resorted to throwing their trash at the referees to express their frustrations with the controversial call.

It all started after senior forward KeShawn Murphy put up the heave against the Aggies. While it seemed he got it off within the 0.6 seconds he had to work with, the official ruling was that the shot would not count ... and the game ended in a 90-88 victory for the Aggies.

Tiger fans did not take well to that news ... so as the refs walked off the floor -- they started lobbing objects in their direction.

It went down at the Leavey Center with just over a minute left in the Utah Tech Trailblazers vs. Santa Clara Broncos contest ... when SC's Allen Graves threw down a one-handed dunk.

Top-10 BYU might be without one of its starters against No. 3 UConn on Saturday -- Kennard Davis Jr. was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Thursday.

Davis was involved in a crash in Provo, Utah minutes before noon. During an investigation into the wreck, responding officers had cause to arrest him for suspected DUI.

20-year-old Davis was taken to the police station for further investigation ... and after he was cited with DUI charges and released, he was treated for minor injuries.

Loyola-Chicago legend Sister Jean -- who became a national sensation as the chaplain and superfan of the university's men's basketball team -- has died.

Loyola University Chicago announced in a statement Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt passed away on Thursday.

Mark C. Reed -- the university's president -- says, "In many roles at Loyola over the course of more than 60 years, Sister Jean was an invaluable source of wisdom and grace for generations of students, faculty, and staff."

NCAA Investigating 13 Hoops Players ... For Sports Betting

A day after the NCAA announced it permanently revoked the eligibility of three players due to their involvement in a gambling scheme ... the organization announced it is now looking into 13 players from six different schools for alleged sports betting violations.

The NCAA shared the news in a press release on Thursday, saying that while each situation between the players varies -- the allegations range from betting on and against their respective teams, point shaving and game manipulation.

No identities were given by the NCAA ... but they said it involves players formerly associated with Temple, Arizona State, Eastern Michigan, North Carolina A&T and Mississippi Valley.
