Jay Johnston -- best known for the animated sitcom "Bob's Burgers" -- looks like he's going to spend just over a year behind bars for his involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot in Washington, D.C.

The comedian's lawyer told NBC News Jay was sentenced Monday to 12 months and a day in federal prison. As we reported ... Jay pled guilty back in July to one count of obstructing officers during a civil disorder.

Jay, who was facing up to 5 years in federal prison, was arrested in California last summer and initially hit with 4 charges ... though 3 were later dropped.

Shyne completely distanced himself from his Diddy past after the Bad Boy mogul got arrested last month ... and it was all one big phony act, according to Funkmaster Flex!!!

The Hot 97 radio vet recently admitted he's been stewing over Shyne's claims that he was the fall guy in the infamous 1999 nightclub shooting that sent him to prison for 8 years, before being deported to Belize.

Shyne is currently promoting his upcoming documentary "The Honorable Shyne" ... but Funk Flex says he's capping, and raked him through the coals on the airwaves!!!

The Game recently suffered a bit of bad luck in his beloved city of Los Angeles -- returning to his car and discovering thieves made off with his hard-earned belongings!!!

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, "The Documentary" rapper parked his car in the San Fernando Valley on Wednesday, only to return and find someone had broken into the vehicle and taken around $100,000 in bling and designer bags.

The Menendez brothers are a step closer to potentially getting out of prison ... because Los Angeles' District Attorney just filed the document officially asking a judge to resentence them.

D.A. George Gascón filed the motion mere minutes ago ... asking a judge to change the brothers' sentences from life without the possibility of parole to life with the possibility of parole. Because of time served, this would allow them to potentially be released from prison immediately.

It's a long document ... but, basically, the D.A.'s office says Erik and Lyle have been upstanding inmates and no longer present a risk to public safety -- so, there's no reason to keep them locked up.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard's telling the Menendez brothers to tread carefully ... because while people are currently advocating for them, she knows from personal experience it won't always be like that.

We spoke with Gypsy, and she tells us she hopes all the facts of their case are taken into account, and they have a peaceful transition back into society if they're released following Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón's decision to advocate for resentencing.

That said, GRB says she worries society's building them up only to tear them down just like she says they've done to her.

The Menendez brothers' possible resentencing is music to Lyle’s first wife’s ears ... 'cause she tells TMZ she’s still standing by the pair, despite her own rocky history with her ex-hubby.

Anna Eriksson, who was married to Lyle from 1996 to 2001, tells TMZ that even though Lyle shattered her trust when a misdirected letter revealed he had feelings for someone else, it doesn’t change her stance -- she still believes the brothers should be freed.

Anna gives us more insight into her heartbreak, admitting she actually fainted when she found out Lyle was all in for someone else. Even though he wanted to work things out, she wasn’t having it -- she says she told him he taught her not to put up with things like that -- and she filed for divorce.

Kim Kardashian is thrilled the Menendez bros have a shot at freedom, and she's singling out Ryan Murphy as a judicial influencer who got the D.A. to act.

Fact is ... there was a hearing set for Erik and Lyle Menendez to make their case long before Murphy's 'Monsters' dropped on Netflix. But L.A. County D.A. George Gascón did make a point that he accelerated the process because of public interest in the wake of the documentary -- presumably he's referring to the Paramount doc.

As for Kim, she was effusive ... "Thank you, George Gascon, for revisiting the Menendez brothers' case and righting a significant wrong."

Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds was wounded during a shooting last week in Denver, the team announced on Thursday.

Former Super Bowl champion Derrick Ward will not spend time in prison over allegations he robbed L.A.-area businesses ... TMZ Sports has learned he's been placed on mental health diversion instead.

Court records show a judge ordered Ward to enroll in the program at a hearing back on Oct. 10.

Ward, according to court documents, will now have to comply with any mental health treatment recommendations from "Find Your Balance Center" and "Brain Health USA Center" for a period of two years.

Donald Trump is getting called out in court for allegedly lying in the middle of the last presidential debate -- not about politics or Kamala Harris, but about the "Central Park Five."

The 5 men who were wrongly accused of a violent series of attacks in Central Park back in 1989 are taking issue with something Trump said on Sept. 10 in Philadelphia, during the debate with Harris.

If you recall, Harris brought up Trump calling for the execution of the Central Park Five ... something he did in a full-page ad in multiple newspapers, including the NY Times, after they'd been arrested in '89.
