What started as a day of fireworks and beach parties turned into hours of mayhem in Newport Beach ... with massive crowds, mounted police, fights spilling into the streets, and damage outside several local spots.

Videos circulating on social media show officers on horseback patrolling packed stretches of the beach as thousands of Fourth of July revelers flooded the area.

Other clips capture police rushing into large crowds to break up fights while partygoers scattered in every direction.

It's getting hot in Washington, D.C., and we're not talking about the weather ... the streets are heating up as tension rises between citizens and the National Guard.

Our TMZDC is out in the nation's capital for America's 250th birthday on Saturday ... and they captured this clip of Great American State Fair attendees expressing their distaste for the authorities keeping them out of the event.

If you don't know ... the event was evacuated just a few hours ago due to the intense heat -- one of many Freedom 250 events that had to be canceled because of the unbearable weather.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna doesn't believe in sending Olympic canoeist David Hearn up you-know-what creek without a paddle for allegedly vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool ... advocating for community service instead.

Our TMZDC team caught up with the congresswoman from Florida on Friday ... and had to ask her about a judge's decision to indict Hearn on the felony charge of destruction of federal property worth $1,000 or more.

Rep. Luna says the punishment -- if Hearn's found guilty -- shouldn't be too severe ... arguing that he should just do a few hours of community service.

4:28 PM PT -- The Pelosis released a statement which reads, “Mr. Paul Pelosi has personally apologized to the owner of the vehicle and assured them that he would take responsibility for the damage to their vehicle. Speaker Pelosi will not be commenting further on this private matter.”

Paul Pelosi -- Nancy Pelosi's husband -- may face a misdemeanor hit & run charge ... after cops say he caused major damage to a parked car.

Henry Wofford -- the spokesperson for the Napa County Sheriff's Spokesperson -- tells TMZ ... the sheriff's office is submitting a report to the district attorney recommending Paul receive a charge of misdemeanor hit and run for property damage.

This comes after the department released a statement claiming officers responded to a report of a car crashing into an unoccupied parked vehicle in the town of Yountville, California.

A skydiver who crashed into a rodeo event earlier this week got right back on the bull after the unintended smackdown ... jumping the very next day.

Here's the deal ... during the Folsom Pro Rodeo event in Northern California on Thursday, video captured a skydiver missing his target area -- smacking into a pop-up tent providing some shade for attendees.

The jumper seemingly hit the structure hard ... but a spokesperson for the rodeo, Adam Frick, tells TMZ the tent actually helped cushion the jumper's fall.

The United States turned 250 on Saturday ... and a group of white supremacists celebrated by flooding the streets of the nation's capital -- much to the chagrin of their fellow Americans.

The Patriot Front -- a white supremacy group which was founded in the aftermath of the "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, Virginia back in 2017 -- showed up in full force in Washington, D.C. ... gathering outside a public transit station.

Video captured the group -- which is reportedly 400 strong -- in their matching ensembles ... blue shirts, khaki pants and white masks covering most of their faces.

A Houston man allegedly thought soaking strangers would make good content ... now cops say it's evidence.

Christopher Cayce was arrested after Houston police say the 34-year-old allegedly targeted homeless and disabled people with a high-powered, motorized water gun -- recording the encounters and posting the videos to social media.

According to HPD, investigators linked Cayce to multiple incidents in which victims were allegedly sprayed with enough force to cause bodily injuries. Authorities also claim he taunted the victims during the encounters before uploading the clips online.

Roofers on a job site stopped working and started fighting ... and bodies went flying off a roof ... and it's all on video.

Ya gotta see the footage ... two fights break out as roofers work on top of a garage ... and one guy gets thrown in the air like a rag doll, crashing onto the ground below.

Another pair falls off the roof as they brawl, and they appear to smack into a trailer on their way down.

The family of the doodle Jameson, who was shot to death by an LAPD officer last month during the NBA Finals ... has slapped the city with a lawsuit.

According to legal docs obtained by TMZ ... Jameson's owners, Marie Marseille and  Jeremiah Garcia, claim the officer who fatally shot the dog used "excessive and unreasonable" force, which they say amounts to "unlawful seizure." They are also suing for negligence.

We've been following the heartbreaking case -- Marie's neighbor called the cops for a welfare check after she was heard screaming from her apartment, and it was later discovered she was celebrating the Knicks' NBA Championship victory. During Marie's encounter with police, Jameson was shot to death ... with the LAPD claiming Jameson charged at them after Marie was ordered to keep him under control.

The Alabama man suspected of strangling his girlfriend to death and then dying of an apparent heart attack while disposing of her body got hit with some major "karma," according to the victim's brother.

Last month, Daniel Robbins allegedly murdered Jessica Folds in Chambers County, AL, amid their turbulent relationship, police said. As Robbins dragged Folds' body into the woods, he suddenly keeled over and died from a possible heart attack, cops said. 

Folds' brother, Jason Walters, now tells TMZ ... karma caught up with Robbins as he was carrying out his evil deed, adding, "The lord works in mysterious ways."

Mitch McConnell is still kicking ... and despite a wave of online rumors claiming he's kicked the bucket, the longtime Kentucky Senator's team says he's continuing to get better during his recent hospitalization.

A spokesperson for McConnell tells TMZ ... "Senator McConnell appreciates the outpouring of support he's receiving while he continues his recovery in the hospital. The Senator continues to improve, and is working closely with his staff on Kentucky and Senate matters while the Senate is out of session."

The update comes after days of rampant social media speculation falsely claiming the 84-year-old Republican had died ... rumors that spread after TMZ reported new details surrounding the medical emergency that landed him in the hospital last month.

Michael Eloshway -- a star on the hit show "90 Day Fiancé" -- is asking a judge to throw out his conviction on child pornography charges ... claiming his lawyer screwed up his case.

The former reality star -- who is currently serving a 10-year sentence -- filed documents earlier this week asking a district court to vacate his convictions and sentence because his trial counsel provided ineffective assistance.

He says his lawyer should've had a forensic digital expert look at the digital evidence law enforcement collected from his computer.

An 11-year-old boy in Thailand allegedly drove through a crowd of monks with a pickup truck and killed 9 people ... according to a new report.

The BBC -- citing local police in Thailand -- says the deadly incident went down on a road in Thailand's Mukdahan province.

Video of the alleged incident has leaked online ... showing a car smashing through a crowd -- flipping several individuals in robes high into the air.

"Free Karmelo" chants allegedly gave way to flying fists ... and now three Texas women are facing criminal charges over what cops say was a brutal group attack.

Newly released arrest affidavits detail investigators' version of the alleged assault ... including claims witnesses heard people shouting, "Free Karmelo" -- an apparent reference to convicted killer Karmelo Anthony -- moments before the violence erupted, according to documents obtained by WFAA.

According to the report, a security guard saw a crowd gathering outside a nightclub on June 21 before hearing someone allegedly say, "The next white (expletive) that walks out, I'm going to hit her." Moments later, the victim walked through the area ... and police say she was jumped by a group of women.
