Figure skater Maxim Naumov's tribute to his parents during the U.S. Figure Skating Championship was deeply emotional ... and the 24-year-old spoke about the tear-jerking moment on Wednesday -- saying he wishes they were by his side as the judges read his final scores.

Naumov met with the media at The Skating Club of Boston after being named to the U.S. Olympic team over the weekend ... and spoke on honoring his parents as he pursued his goals of reaching the most prestigious stage in sports.

Maxim's parents, Vadim Naumov and Evgenia Shishkova, were tragically killed when their American Airlines flight collided with a military aircraft over the Potomac River while on approach to Ronald Reagan International Airport ... an incident that took the lives of 14 members of the U.S. skating community.

Now that Maxim is bound for Italy for the Winter Olympics ... what are his thoughts as he gears up to represent his country after everything he endured over the past year?

Figure skater Maxim Naumov made his dream come true when he made the U.S. Olympic team Sunday ... but the accomplishment was bittersweet, as it came one year after losing his parents to a catastrophic plane crash.

Naumov grew up following in his parents' footsteps ... Vadim Naumov and Evgenia Shishkova, competed for Russia, becoming world champions in pairs figure skating in 1994.

Wanting the best for their son, they shared advice and talked to him about what it would take for him to join them in Olympic glory while supporting him last year at the 2025 U.S. championships in Wichita, Kansas.

Figure skater Maxim Naumov was moved to tears during Thursday’s U.S. Championship ... after he paid tribute to his late parents, who tragically died in the Washington D.C. plane crash nearly a year ago.

Naumov, along with other top skaters, competed at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri ... not only vieing for the Championship, but also a spot on the U.S. Olympic team heading into the 2026 Winter Games.

After nailing his routine, Naumov, holding an old family photo of him with his parents as a three-year-old, patiently waited for his score. When it was finally announced, the 24-year-old became very emotional.

Jake Paul might still be in recovery mode after suffering a broken jaw at the hands of Anthony Joshua ... but it doesn't mean he can't find time to celebrate his fiancée, Jutta Leerdam -- 'cause he took to Instagram to wish her a happy 27th birthday!!
