The singer was at NYC's Marriott Marquis Hotel with fiancé Travis Kelce, vibing to John Fogerty and his sons performing "Fortunate Son" when she started striking poses for her phone ... before handing it to the Oscar-winning director sitting right beside her.

The legendary director didn't disappoint. Instead of a quick point-and-shoot, Steven had Taylor fully sell the scene ... leaning in, hamming it up and serving main-character energy while he filmed from his chair.

Internet trolls immediately thought Selena was shading Taylor ... but Selena cleared it all up with a post to her Instagram Story late Thursday evening, writing ... "Woke up and was sent so many texts. I would never insult my friends nor was it an insult."

The series "Off Campus" has gotten an intense reaction from fans ... so much so that the show's team is stepping in to call out a wave of online harassment aimed at cast members and people close to them.

In a statement posted to social media, the show's official account urged fans to remember there's a difference between fictional characters and real-life people, stressing that respect should extend to both the cast and their loved ones.

The account also warned that users engaging in targeted harassment could be blocked from interacting with the show's pages.

Brad Paisley is super pissed about a plan to build an artificial intelligence data center near the Nashville Zoo ... and he's hoping to stop the development.

The country star posted a video message slamming the "absolute nightmare" the proposed data center would create ... telling fans it's a crap idea that would ruin the area.

A permit has been filed to demolish two buildings in the area to make way for the proposed 69,000-square-foot data center, which the zoo says would be about 50 yards from some of its animals, including leopards.

Brad says ... "It doesn't belong there. It would be an enormous monstrosity, an absolute eyesore, and detract in every way, for not only that zoo, but also that area."

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr is taking a major swipe at Scott Pelley, saying the fired "60 Minutes" correspondent is totally detached from reality.

Carr ripped Scott in a social media post, calling him out for criticizing the new CBS leadership and his dismissal from the popular newsmagazine show.

After CBS showed him the door after 37 years with the network, Scott told The New York Times he didn't think for a moment he would be fired ... even though things got really heated between him and new CBS brass.

In his X post, the FCC bigwig references the NYT interview, branding Scott's statements as "completely out of touch." He says Scott's behavior would not be tolerated at any run of the mill job.
