We caught up with Big Papi out at LAX on Thursday -- just a day before the MLB's championship matchup kicks off in Canada -- and he made it clear, he thinks the Jays can win it.
In fact, he was surprised to hear some think a Dodgers title is already a foregone conclusion.

The organization announced the news via a public statement Thursday afternoon ... writing that Alex and his wife Kayla are navigating this difficulty. The team is sending thoughts to the Vesias during this troubling time.

While the Dodgers didn't say what the personal matter is, we do know Kayla's pregnant with the couple's first child -- with Kayla looking ready to give birth any day in photos taken on the field after the Dodgers advanced to the World Series. L.A. Dodgers W.S. Firework Mishap Cost Fan Two Fingers
The L.A. Dodgers fan who had a firework explode in his hand during a viral World Series celebration-gone-wrong last week has lost two of his fingers, his dad announced this week.
Kevin King Sr. told Fox 11 Los Angeles his 25-year-old son, Kevin King Jr., is now without the pointer finger and the middle finger on his left hand ... and has already undergone two surgeries to repair the damage the firework caused.
Unfortunately, King Sr. said King Jr. will require a third procedure soon.

The folks at Gametime -- a last-minute ticket app -- tell TMZ Sports entry to Game 4 of the Fall Classic has become pretty reasonable compared to the wild listing prices prior to the start of the series.
According to the company, the lowest listing for Tuesday's game is $749 -- a major decrease from the $1,583 price tag a week ago.
