Still, Destinee admits she's not deaf to the jokes ... "I have been dealing with it since I was a child. People can be childish."

There was almost no Destinee Hooker at all ... the 24-year-old tells us she nearly died at birth, and when she survived, her father was inspired to give her the name "Destinee."

"Since I was a blessing, [my father] spelled it uniquely. So I am thankful to be here and glad my Dad gave me the name."

Ryan Lochte's unexpected grill flash during his Olympic medal ceremony was courtesy of none other than the grill-master himself ... rapper Paul Wall.

If you recall ... Lochte flashed a ruby and diamond studded American flag grill when he accepted his medal for the men's 400-meter IM event on Saturday ... but the genius behind the bling was "The Peoples Champ" himself.

Wall told XXLmag.com he was psyched to create the mouth piece, saying "Everyone’s talking about it ... it’s just an incredible thing to be part of. There’s not too many world-class swimmers wearing our grill."

The grill was hand crafted by Wall who boasted to the mag, "Every diamond is set by hand ... one by one, prong set and all custom red rubies."

Wall wouldn't specify how much he charged Lochte for the grill ... but says it's worth between $15k and $25k. Wall added "Of course we gave him an Olympic discount."

Leaving little to the imagination -- and looking ridiculously sexy -- in some sort of black lace body stocking thing, supermodel Bar Refaeli tweeted a pic of her gorgeous self on the set of her latest photo shoot in London on Monday.

This is definitely worthy of an Olympic gold medal.

"2 Broke Girls" star Kat Dennings ripped a page from the Christina Hendricks guide to the red carpet ... by squeezing her gals into a very cleavage-friendly blue dress this weekend.

Kirstie Alley is being sued for allegedly lying about how she dumped 100 lbs.

The suit, obtained by TMZ, was filed by a California woman who claims Organic Liaison -- the weight loss product Kirstie hocks online and on QVC -- is not the reason Kirstie dramatically slimmed down.

Plaintiff Marina Abramyan -- who used the product and filed the class action lawsuit -- alleges Kirstie shed the lbs by dancing her ass off on "Dancing with the Stars" and eating an extremely low-calorie diet.

As for Organic Liaison, Abramyan says it's bogus -- just a bunch of calcium and fiber which is not a proven weight-loss product.

Abramyan is suing for unspecified damages.

We contacted Kirstie's rep. So far, no comment.

Bald is not beautiful ... it's embarrassing ... and men should do whatever it takes to hide their hairless shame ... so implies Wes Welker -- the new face of hair transplant surgery.

The 31-year-old New England Patriots wide receiver has revealed ... he underwent hair transplant surgery back in July after noticing his hair was starting to thin.

In fact, Welker is enjoying his new thickened mop so much, he's agreed to star in an ad campaign with the man who re-populated his melon, Dr. Robert Leonard of Leonard Hair Transplant Associates.

According to the LHTA, Welker's procedure went down in July -- with doctors "transplanting follicles to an area of Welker’s scalp where his hair had started to thin."

5 hours later, Welker's dome was good to go ... and according to LHTA, Welker was "immediately able to resume his regular activities, including training for the football season and even wearing a helmet."

It's hard being teammates with Tom Brady ... that beautiful sonofabitch.

Washington Redskins offensive lineman Trent Williams is 6'5" and weighs 318 pounds, so just imagine how much ink was used to slap a gigantic tattoo on his back.
