Amanda Bynes is currently packing up her NYC apartment ... and moving somewhere else ... after her landlord threatened to evict the actress claiming she's a disrespectful rule-breaker ... TMZ has learned.

Sources at the apartment tell us ... Bynes got a letter from building management earlier this month explaining that her lease would be terminated ... because she's a building nuisance.

We're told management made the decision after getting several complaints of marijuana smoke coming from her apartment -- "morning, noon and night." Sources say she was also seen smoking weed in the hallways.

FYI -- it's a non-smoking building.

As TMZ previously reported, Bynes is a fan of the herb -- she was photographed smoking weed around Los Angeles last year.

Sources say Amanda wasn't going to wait around and challenge management's decision -- and instead decided to simply find somewhere else to live.

The moving trucks are currently on-site. So far, no word on where she plans to live next.

Some actors play super heroes on the screen, but Taye Diggs really is one ... single-handedly apprehending a guy who tried to break into his L.A. home last night ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Diggs was at his home last night when a man broke into his home shortly after 11:00 PM. We're told Diggs -- who was at the SAG Awards earlier in the evening -- confronted the suspect, who then took off running.

According to our sources, Diggs then actually chased after the guy and eventually caught up to him. We're told Diggs held the man (who we're told was around 20) until cops arrived.

Our law enforcement sources say there was a getaway driver ... but he got away.

While "Teen Mom" star Amber Portwood is busy rotting away in the big house, her baby daddy is on the verge of getting EVICTED from his house ... this according to legal docs.

Gary Shirley is being sued for eviction by Real Property Management. In their lawsuit, the company claims Gary stiffed them for rent on his 1,500-square-foot Indiana crib ... to the tune of $1,360.

RPM is not only looking to collect the money, but they want Gary evicted ASAP.

As for Amber, she's serving a five-year sentence stemming from a drug arrest last year, while Gary has been taking care of their 4-year-old daughter -- which would be harder if he gets kicked out of his house.

A hearing is set for February 13.

Buy low ... SELL HIGH ... at least that's the real estate advice Vanilla Ice is handing out on the streets of New York -- telling TMZ, now's a better time than ever to purchase a new home.

'Nilla -- who currently hosts the reality show "The Vanilla Ice Project" on the DIY Network about renovating and flipping houses -- was out in NYC yesterday, where he told us, "The housing market right now is better than ever."

The rapper -- real name Rob Van Winkle -- said, "If you can buy a house cheaper than you can build it, it's great. Look at the stock market. It's all going up ... No better time to get in than right now."

Former NFL star Jamal Anderson took a beating on his Georgia mansion ... TMZ has learned his primo crib was sold off at a foreclosure auction ... for $225,000 LESS than what Jamal paid.

Jamal -- who played for the Atlanta Falcons from 1994 to 2001 -- bought the MASSIVE 10-bedroom, 9-bath crib way back in 1999 (when he had an NFL contract) for $1.225 million.

According to official records, Anderson defaulted on his mortgage ... so the bank foreclosed the home and recently sold it at auction for an even $1,000,000.

It was a STEAL for the buyer ... the pad is over 6,000 square feet, sits on 2 acres and is rockin' a separate guest house, arcade room, media room, pool and spa.

Cops raced to Chris Brown's Hollywood Hills home Monday afternoon ... after someone called 911 and reported a domestic incident involving a gun, but we're told it was all a prank.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the caller claimed a mother and father were in a fight and the father went to another room in the house to get a gun. At that point the caller hung up, never mentioning it was Chris Brown's house.

When cops arrived there was no evidence of a gunman or for that matter any dispute.

Chris was NOT home at the time.

This is the latest in a string of swatting incidents involving celebs, the most recent being last Friday when someone falsely reported a man with a gun in the home of Kris and Bruce Jenner.

The home of Bruce and Kris Jenner was swarmed by cops this afternoon, after someone placed a 911 call claiming someone was shot inside the house and armed people were still inside ... TMZ has learned.

Sources tell us ... police came in force to the Hidden Hills residence -- several helicopters and cops on the ground with machine guns and other weapons. We're told there were at least 15 officers on site, who locked down the entire street.

The caller said he/she was in the house, hiding in a closet.

We're told it was all a hoax and the Kardashians are now the latest swatting victims. As we first reported, Tom Cruise fell victim yesterday, when a swatter placed a 911 call to Bev Hills cops.

Law enforcement tells us the 911 caller gave an address near the Kardashian house, but cops believe the target was the Kardashian home and they went to Kris' door and told her they got a call someone was hiding in her closet.

We're told Bruce, Kris, Kylie and Kendall were all present and cops ordered them out of their house while they searched it.

Police just swarmed Tom Cruise's Beverly Hills estate after someone placed a 911 call saying there was an armed intruder on the property ... TMZ has learned.

Beverly Hills cops were all over the property and found nothing.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... it appears to be the latest incident of celebrity swatting.

Tom was not home at the time. We're told the only people in the house were some security officers and a cook.

FYI, a 12-year-old was arrested recently for allegedly committing a swatting prank against Ashton Kutcher and Justin Bieber.

First Heather Graham ... then Skrillex ... now Sharon Osbourne has fallen victim to the terrifying fire power of CANDLES -- after falling asleep last night before extinguishing a candle in her home.

Law enforcement sources tell us, the BHFD responded to the Osbourne home around 4:45 AM today in response to a fire -- but thankfully, they arrived before the blaze had done significant damage.

We're told the firefighters dealt with the situation -- and shared some important fire safety tips with Sharon before hitting the road ... namely, don't fall asleep with lit candles in your house.

Jermaine Dupri's Atlanta mansion must have 9 lives -- because the music legend just saved the place from foreclosure ... for the SECOND TIME in 4 months.

TMZ broke the story ... Jermaine's house came within inches of the auction block back in September -- after he allegedly failed to make $193,404 in mortgage payments -- but the producer successfully staved off the foreclosure sale, claiming the bill was erroneous.

But after Jermaine again allegedly failed to cough up payments, a new auction date was set for January 2nd.

And once again, Jermaine rescued his home -- filing an emergency motion just days after Christmas, insisting the foreclosure company has continually failed to prove that Jermaine actually owes the money it claims he does.

The company claims he owes roughly $410,000 on the home -- Jermaine insists he only owes $111,845.

The judge sided with Jermaine -- despite the producer admitting in the court docs that he hasn't made a mortgage payment since November 2011 -- and canceled the auction.

Faye Resnick got a crappy housewarming -- an alleged stalker creeping around the place -- but on the upside, she got herself an awesome spot in the Hollywood Hills just a few months ago.

The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star -- who famously testified against OJ Simpson AND modeled for Playboy -- snagged the 2,567-square-foot home for a cool $1.6 million.

Heather's swanky NYC pad caught fire Saturday night ... after she left a few mood-setting candles burning in her bathroom before heading out for the night. The flames later ignited some clothes hanging nearby ... according to the NY POST.

The NY Fire Department raced to the scene -- and spent 45 minutes battling the blaze, says the report.

Heather -- who was not home at the time -- was quickly informed of the situation and rushed back ... only to find her 12th-story-crib a little toastier than she left it.

A real estate war could be brewing between a Bad Boy founder and a "Bad Boys" producer ... 'cause TMZ has learned Diddy is in the market for the same $23 million Bev Hills mansion that Jerry Bruckheimer is hoping to buy.

Our real estate sources tells us ... Diddy is on the hunt for a brand new pad in certain upscale parts of L.A. ... and one of the homes on his radar is the famous 19,590-square-foot "Harry Cohn" estate in Beverly Hills. In fact, Diddy was photographed at the estate just a few days ago.

Problem is ... Jerry Bruckheimer is also interested in the pad ... and as we previously reported, he put a $23 million offer on the house earlier this month.

Bruckheimer is supposed to close on the house on January 17, but if Diddy decides he HAS to have it, he can still swoop in with a higher bid up until the last minute.

But Jerry shouldn't panic just yet ... sources tell us Diddy probably won't make an offer because he was only planning on dropping $15 mil during this particular real estate venture (even gazillionaires got a budget).

Meantime, sources tell us ... Diddy's been checking out a bunch of other swanky homes with real estate agent Kurt Rappaport -- including a $19 million crib in Bel Air ... with 10 bdrms, 11 baths, staff quarters, media room, wine cellar, sauna ... the works.
