Columbus Short makes it sound like his wife is not a dog person ... because he claims she kicked and threw a 10-week-old puppy before getting violent with him.

The ex "Scandal" star beelined it to court this week and filed for a temporary restraining order against his wife, alleging a series of domestic violence incidents involving him and the puppy.

In the docs, obtained by TMZ, Columbus claims his wife Aida roughed up his 10-week-old pooch on Monday ... and when he confronted her, she got physically violent and hit him multiple times in the face, busting his eye open and drawing blood.

Chris Brown faced two new charges in a London assault case Friday morning ... pleading not guilty to two additional counts stemming from a violent altercation two years ago in which a man's head was smashed with a bottle in a nightclub.

The R&B singer arrived at London's Southwark Crown Court dressed in a brown suit Friday morning to plead not guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm, and not guilty to possessing an offensive weapon in a public place -- a tequila bottle.

This follows a court appearance last month when Brown pled not guilty to attempting to cause grievous bodily harm -- the most serious of the three counts -- in the same case ... Brown's accused of smashing the bottle over Abraham Diaw's head in February 2023 at TAPE nightclub.

The last time Katie Taylor shared the ring with Amanda Serrano, the fight was so awesome that it somehow overshadowed Mike Tyson and Jake Paul ... and now the star pugilists will once again come face-to-face to settle the score!!

TMZ Sports spoke with 39-year-old super lightweight champion leading up to the July 11 scrap at the World's Most Famous Arena, MSG, about the importance of the all-female event that'll also be streaming on Netflix ... and Katie hardly believes it's real.

Ex-NHL enforcer Nick Tarnasky's current employer tells TMZ Sports it is investigating his role in that wild Fourth of July golf fight.

Red Deer Minor Hockey -- where Tarnasky coaches a U17 squad -- said in a statement to us on Tuesday it has seen the video of the 40-year-old former Florida Panther throwing a man into a golf course's pond ... and it is looking into the siutation.

"At this time," the org. told us, "given that we understand the matter is being reviewed by local policing authorities and we are conducting our own internal investigation into the alleged incident, we will have no further comments."

Round II between Adrian Peterson and his poker rival looks like it will, in fact, go down inside a ring ... as TMZ Sports has learned the NFL legend's adversary has signed a contract with Celebrity Boxing.

The promotion's founder, Damon Feldman, tells us ... Joe "Baby Joe" Castaneda agreed to a scrap with Peterson this week -- and formally put pen to a pact on Tuesday.

Peterson's yet to ink his deal ... but Feldman tells us he's expecting that to happen soon.

Police in Canada tell TMZ Sports ... the fight took place on July 4 at around 5:47 PM at Alberta Springs Golf Course in Red Deer.

Officers did respond to the scene after they received reports of an intoxicated person who had been instigating fights -- but cops said by the time they arrived, the suspect had left.

No arrests were made, and there's no further investigation into the matter, authorities said.

A golfer was thrown into a pond and then beaten in the face by a flurry of punches during a dispute on the course ... and the wild altercation was captured on video.

If Jake Paul wants a shot at taking one of Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez's belts, the boxing star tells TMZ Sports he's down to let him try ... though he's promising there's no way El Gallo comes out on top.

The potential Jake vs. Zurdo fight has been brewing for a few days now ... after Paul was seen trash-talking the WBA cruiserweight champ following his big win on the Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. card late last month.

Powerlifter Stefi Cohen -- a social media personality with 1 million followers on Instagram -- allegedly scratched her boyfriend during a heated dispute just prior to her arrest last week.

Court documents, obtained by TMZ Sports, reveal Cohen allegedly got physical with her BF during an altercation at around 12:47 PM at a Miami-area residence on July 1.

The docs state the alleged victim told officers the two were arguing over their relationship -- when he decided to leave after he noticed Cohen "was recording their conversation with her computer."

The World Boxing Association dropped its updated list late Monday night ... and sure enough, Paul crept into the cruiserweight standings after handling former champ Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. over the weekend.

It's not all that surprising ... as WBA President Gilberto Mendoza said prior to the bout Paul would hit the rankings if he secured a victory -- which will now make him eligible for a shot at the belt.

Joe "Baby Joe" Castaneda -- Adrian Peterson's poker game rival -- is down to move the guys' beef from the felt tables to the squared circle ... telling TMZ Sports he definitely has interest in sparring the NFL legend in a sanctioned bout.

Castaneda, who went toe-to-toe last month with the former Minnesota Vikings running back during a violent scrap over cards at a Houston, Texas social club -- said this week if he were approached by some kind of celebrity boxing promotion to fight AP in a ring, he wouldn't say no.

Castaneda told us it would require some kind of monetary compensation -- but if the number was right, he'd have no problem mixing it up with Peterson again under some far brighter lights.

Ilia Topuria says he's got no beef whatsoever with Charles Oliveira -- in fact, he's got a ton of respect for the title contender -- but with that said, he's vowing to beat his ass!

TMZ Sports spoke to the 28-year-old Topuria, who recently relinquished his featherweight belt, ahead of their UFC 317 scrap -- where they'll fight for Islam Makhachev's lightweight strap (he's moving up to welterweight) -- and we asked the 16-0 fighter what he'd say to Charles just days before their title fight.

"I have all the respect in the world for Du Bronx, nothing personal. This is competition, and this time he has a very, very dangerous opponent, and he needs to bring his pillow," Ilia said.
