Lindsay Lohan is adamant ... there's no way in hell she's gonna blow the progress she's made with her judge just to count backwards from ten.

Sources close to the actress tell TMZ ... she's gotten a bunch of offers to host various ragers on NYE ... but she's turned down every last one.

We're told Lindsay is desperately trying to change her party girl image ... and she feels staying out of the NYE madness is a major step in the right direction.

Lohan's decision is a costly one -- some stars have raked in 6-figure checks for partying on New Year's Eve. But we're told Lindsay -- who received high marks from the judge just earlier this month -- doesn't think a check would be worth it.

Lindsay plans to ring in 2012 with a few close friends at her home ... although she may go out to dinner before the final countdown.

It was not a Merry Christmas in the Osbourne home yesterday -- their beloved chihuahua Martin died.

Kelly Osbourne passed on the sad news via Twitter yesterday, writing, "today is a sad day in the Osbourne family house hold we lost R dog martin of 14 years. Devastated does not quite sum it up! #NotSoMerryXmas"

On Sharon's website, Martin is described as "a sophisticated little creature. Shunning the affection of women, Martin prefers the love of a good man."

Bill Klein and Jen Arnold (aka TLC's "Little Couple") weren't kidding when they told us they got a giant Christmas tree this year -- it really is 16 feet tall!!!

Amber Portwood is firmly entrenched on Santa's naughty list -- not only will she be spending the holidays behind bars, but her Xmas Eve meal sounds worse than eating a lump of coal.

Amber was tossed in the slammer earlier this week and will remain there until a court date in January.

According to the folks at the Madison County Jail in Indiana, inmates will be dining this evening on turkey sausage pizza (which was described to us as "a meat-like substance on top of the pizza"), a side of carrots (cold, not steamed), peas and some pineapple.

Amber will not be having dessert.

From Baltimore to Washington to Atlanta ... people waiting in lines for the new Nike Air Jordan shoe are getting CRAZY violent -- except at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles where PATIENCE IS RUNNING RAMPANT!!

TMZ spoke with several people at the Bev Center who have been waiting in line for hours ... and some for days ... and they all seem to say the same thing -- it's been cold, but everyone has been extremely cordial.

It seems to be a sharp contrast from other shoe lines across the country -- so far, there have been reports of pepper spraying at a mall in Washington, a brawl in Kentucky and girl fights in North Carolina.

Marc Anthony clearly wants to show he's a cooler boss than Jennifer Lopez -- treating his 14-person staff to an all-expenses-paid vacation ... to the Dominican Republic!!!

Sources close to Marc tell TMZ, Marc took his immediate staff on a vacation retreat to DR as a holiday present to thank them for their hard work.

We're told Marc put the staff up at an exclusive resort for 5 days in La Romana -- and comped meals, drinks, and entertainment.

But it wasn't all mindless self-indulgence -- Marc and his staff also paid a visit to the city's Niños de Cristo orphanage to spend some time with the less fortunate (below). Your move, J.Lo.

Kiefer Sutherland just scared the living crap out of a perfectly innocent Christmas tree ... pretending to form tackle the fur ... in a new holiday card intended to spoof his famous tree dive of '06.

If you recall, Kiefer ferociously murdered a suspicious-looking Xmas plant in a London hotel during the filming of the documentary "I Trust You to Kill Me" ... possibly because he may have been drunk at the time.

Now, Sutherland has mocked the incident ... posting the greeting card to his Twitter page.

Pretty funny ... but nothing beats the real thing.

Shameless underage fame whore Courtney Stodden couldn't leave well enough alone this weekend -- stripping down to a sacrilegiously tiny bikini in 30-degree weather ... and single-handedly destroying our Christmas spirit.

We can't decide if this makes it more or less creepy, but the guy in the Santa suit is Courtney's 51-year-old husband Doug Hutchinson -- and Saturday, the barely legal couple abandoned whatever shred of dignity they had left ... and exchanged dirty talk in the snow just north of L.A.

No one is going to confuse Bruce Willis with Ebenezer Scrooge -- because the guy showed some serious Christmas spirit when he dropped a gigantic tip when he bought his Xmas tree this week.

We're told Willis dropped $175 on a 10-foot tree from A1 Christmas Trees and Lights in Los Angeles. The owner tells TMZ Bruce was really nice to everyone there -- shaking everyone's hand who asked -- but wouldn't pose for pics.

Bruce made up for it though ... forking over $100 to each of the guys who helped him pick out the tree.
