Jeff Bridges Brings Back 'The Dude' To Speak Out Against ICE Raids
It looks like Jeff Bridges is still cool with revisiting old roles ... because he just reprised his old part as "The Dude" from "The Big Lebowski" while appearing on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Tuesday.
The actor was being interviewed ahead of the premiere of "Tron: Ares," in which he stars, when Kimmel asked him to share a few choice quotes ... in character, of course.
Bridges hopped into a sweater and a pair of sunglasses -- if anyone needs Halloween ideas, take notes -- and got into character, asking viewers to seriously consider chilling out.
Bridges turned his focus to the ongoing ICE raids, and quipped we should be getting ICE "off the streets and into our beverages, man" -- and yes, White Russians were served.
Bridges finished off by referencing one of The Dude's catchphrases ... telling the audience and viewers not just to abide, but to "abide together."
This isn't the first time Bridges has returned to the role, portraying The Dude in a Super Bowl ad for Stella Artois in 2019.
It was a pretty solid interview -- and we think The Dude's special appearance really tied it all together, man.

Ted Cruz I Hope Jimmy Kimmel Learned a Lesson ... But FCC Should Butt Out!!!
Ted Cruz just served up his own late-night hot take ... and Jimmy Kimmel's talk show return is squarely in the spotlight.
TMZ got the Senator talking Monday -- and he didn’t mince his words, saying Jimmy used to be hilarious, but somewhere along the way, he traded punchlines for political rants ... and, in Ted’s view, that’s when the laughs (and ratings) nosedived.
Still, Cruz isn’t cheering for a cancellation -- in fact, he says the FCC needs to butt out completely, 'cause according to him, the government threatening comedians is a slippery slope that could bite everyone in the bum.

Jimmy Kimmel's return to TV -- which included a staunch defense of the First Amendment and an emotional salute to Charlie Kirk's widow -- went over like a fart in church with Congressman Dan Crenshaw.
The U.S. Representative from Texas joined us Wednesday on "TMZ Live," and blasted Kimmel's monologue as not just disingenuous ... but, a "new brand of gaslighting."
Crenshaw thinks the late night host was only saying what he needed to say to save face after ABC suspended him, and wasn't actually apologizing to people who felt he'd insulted Kirk's memory and his conservative followers.

Jon Stewart Jimmy's Hiatus Was Totally Not About Censorship!!!
Jon Stewart cracked a joke about Jimmy Kimmel's return to ABC while taking aim at the FCC's threat to the network that coincidentally -- or not -- occurred just before "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" was yanked from the air.
Check out this clip from Monday's 'Daily Show' ... Jon says he's shocked Jimmy's show is returning, considering he was told the FCC's threat to ABC -- that they could "do this the easy way or the hard way" -- had nothing to do with the show's now short-lived hiatus.

Jimmy Kimmel Return Won't Be Seen On All ABC Stations ... Sinclair Won't Air 'Live!'
Update
9/23 8:10 AM PT -- Nexstar Media Group is joining Sinclair in continuing to preempt “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” indefinitely, the company said in a statement on their website.
Jimmy Kimmel is getting back on the air after a brief suspension, but not everyone will be able to see him on ABC when "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" returns Tuesday ... because a major broadcast company is holding out.
Sinclair, which owns a ton of ABC affiliates across the country, says ... "Beginning Tuesday night, Sinclair will be preempting Jimmy Kimmel Live! across our ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming."
It sounds like Jimmy could still make his eventual return to ABC affiliates under the Sinclair umbrella ... the company adds, "Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return."
