Vernon Davis is speaking out after a woman accused him of abusing her last year ... saying he is looking forward to clearing his name.
The Super Bowl champ went to social media to address the TMZ Sports report ... saying he is aware and saddened by the news coming to light.
"For now, I'm staying focused on my life, my work, and the amazing people and partners who believe in and continue to support me," Davis said minutes ago.

The soda giant just dropped their Super Bowl ad on social media ... which begins with a polar bear -- an iconic Coca-Cola mascot -- taking the Pepsi Challenge, and choosing Pepsi over Coke.
The shocked bear runs off to a therapy session -- with a heavily bearded Taika Waititi talking him through his issues -- before he hits the city streets and meets a lady bear on the street ... who offers him a Pepsi.
The two then attend a concert together ... where they're shown on the Jumbotron ... cuddled up and sipping on the beverage.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement will have a presence in the San Francisco area next weekend, according to DHS, but there are a few places ICE won't be arresting undocumented people ... at the actual Super Bowl.
Sources tell TMZ Sports there is no plan for ICE to be at Levi's Stadium on Sunday, February 8 ... meaning there will be no immigration enforcement at the site of Super Bowl LV.
We're also told there hasn't been talk of ICE enforcing immigration policy at NFL-sponsored events across the Bay Area in the days leading up to kickoff.
