Dr. Jane Goodall, the world-renowned primatologist and chimpanzee expert, died earlier this month ... and TMZ has learned the cause.

According to the death certificate ... Goodall's cause of death is listed as cardiopulmonary arrest -- which is just another name for cardiac arrest, an incident where the heart simply stop beating.

Risk of cardiopulmonary arrest goes up as a person gets older ... so, this cause of death isn't totally surprising -- and, it's considered natural.

Legendary Bass Player Anthony Jackson Dead At 73

Legendary bass guitar player and session musician Anthony Jackson died on Sunday.

The performer was best known for his work with the 6-string bass, and he was one of the first musicians to extensively use the instrument, according to CBS 42.

Jackson was born in New York City and initially focused on piano and guitar before switching to bass after hearing a Glen Campbell track in 1965.

Ex-NFLer Doug Martin Died After 'Brief Struggle' With Police

Doug Martin died while in police custody after being arrested following a break-in to an Oakland home ... according to a new report.

The East Bay Times -- citing anonymous sources -- claims the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back was taken to a hospital, where he later died, after being contacted by Oakland Police ... who were responding to a reported home break-in early Saturday near the Oakland Zoo.

Oakland Police says officers were simultaneously told the suspected burglar was experiencing a medical emergency. A "brief struggle" followed, and the individual became unresponsive after being taken into custody.

Gerald Horne -- Sir Mo's brother -- tells us the former wrestling star died Sunday night at a Texas hospital.

Sir Mo -- who's real name is Bobby Horne -- had been battling kidney issues for a long time, which lead to him being hospitalized for the past couple months.

Hong Kong Cargo Plane Ends Up in Sea ... Two Killed in Crash

Two people are dead after a cargo plane veered off the Hong Kong International Airport's runway into the sea ... and, photos show the aftermath of the crash.

A picture going viral online shows the plane -- seemingly missing it's tail and totally smashed in at the front -- sitting in the water while the glow of emergency lights are evidenct in the background.

According to the BBC -- citing local outlets -- the plane crashed into a vehicle on the ground and careerned into the water ... dragging two ground crew members into the ocean with it.

Secret Service Investigating Hunting Stand with FBI ... Aimed Toward Air Force One Parking

The United States Secret Service is looking into a hunting stand found in Florida which they say had a direct sightline to where Air Force One could park.

The law enforcement agency revealed Sunday they found the stand near Palm Beach International Airport last week ... releasing a photo of the structure set up in a tree.

In a statement released to media, the U.S. Secret Service Chief of Communications, Anthony Guglielmi said, "During advance security preparations prior to the Palm Beach arrival, which included the use of technology and comprehensive physical sweeps, our teams identified items of interest near Palm Beach International Airport."

A source with direct knowledge tells TMZ Martin passed away Saturday morning ... though they did not share any further details.

Martin was a standout RB at Boise State for four years before the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted him in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Ex-MLBer Jesus Montero Dead at 35 ... After Motorcycle Crash

Jesus Montero -- an ex-Major League Baseball player with the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees -- has died ... according to tribute post from the Yankees.

The team shared a photo of Montero to X Sunday morning ... writing, "The Yankees are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jesús Montero. We send our sincerest condolences to his family & loved ones."

The Seattle Times -- citing Venezuelan outlets -- reported earlier this month that Montero was driving a motorcycle in his home country when he was hit by a pickup truck. He was rushed to a hospital in the city of Valencia. Newsweek reported he was intubated at the hospital.

Sharon Osbourne is saying goodbye to one of her most loyal companions ... her beloved dog Elvis has died.

The TV host shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram Sunday, writing ... "I can't believe I am posting this but my darling Elvis passed away this week. He gave me 14 precious years. He was by my side until the end. Rest in peace my darling boy!"

Elvis, a Siberian Husky that Sharon adopted, became a fixture in the Osbourne household alongside Sharon and Ozzy's pack of pets.

The renowned athlete died in his sleep Thursday, his longtime friend and business partner Scott Joffe announced on social media Friday.

Bone-chilling audio captured the exact moment a control tower lost contact with a doomed private jet Thursday night ... seconds before the craft came crashing down in Michigan, killing all three people onboard.

In the audio, after a back-and-forth exchange between pilot and tower, you can hear the jet starts to fail ... with the panicked pilot yelling to the air traffic controller, "Stall, recovery! Stall, recovery!" as he fought to keep control.

Air traffic control are heard desperately asking, "What is your altitude? ... Do you read?" -- and when he realized the pilot was gone, he radioed other planes in the sky to watch for black smoke rising from the ground.

South Korean Author Baek Se-hee Dead At 35

Baek Se-hee -- the author whose 2018 memoir "I Want To Die But I Want To Eat Tteokbokki" became an international bestseller -- has died.

A statement confirming her death was released by the the Korean Organ Donation Agency on Thursday, according to CNN. A cause of death wasn't included in the statement.

Baek had several of her organs donated after her death, and they reportedly saved five lives.

The author, who was born in 1990, studied creative writing while in university, and she later became a social media director at a publishing house. She wrote her memoir -- in which she spoke openly about her struggles with depression, and her conversations with her psychiatrist -- while she was working at the publishing house.

Baek's book became wildly popular in South Korea, and it was translated into English in 2022, and got a recommendation in The New York Times.

The writer published a follow-up, "I Want to Die But I Still Want To Eat Tteokbokki," in 2019, and the book followed her as she dealt with steady, low-grade depression.

Anton Hur, who translated Baek's work into English, released a statement after her death, writing the author's work touched "millions of lives."

Baek was 35 years old.
