Kourtney Kardashian is trapped firmly in the clutches of baby daddy Scott Disick -- and the soon-to-be engaged couple proved it yesterday in Miami ... showing off some shocking grab-assy PDA.

An anonymous person called the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services to report possible abuse against Kendall and Kylie Jenner -- but sources tell us authorities don't believe anything bad happened ... and the Kardashian clan thinks the culprit may be a tabloid reporter.

The anonymous call came in Friday, claiming the two girls were in danger. Sources connected with the Kardashians tell us ... the complaint was "ridiculous because Kylie wasn't even in the country the day the caller claimed she was in danger. She was in the Philippines."

Social workers and cops came to the house ... and our sources say they quickly discounted the anonymous call.

The Kardashian sisters aren't backing down in their war with a high-end makeup company -- sources close to the K-Krew tell TMZ, they've got a secret weapon to guarantee they'll prevail in court ... trademarks up the wazoo.

The Kardashian girls filed requests to trademark the phrases "Kardashian Khroma" and "Khroma Beauty by Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe" earlier this summer.

The requests are still pending -- but sources connected with the family tell us, they're confident they'll be approved ... because the man behind the competing makeup line (named Chroma) hasn't filed for ANY trademarks.

As we reported, the co-owner of Chroma Makeup in Beverly Hills -- a guy named Michael Rey -- is threatening to sue the Kardashians over the Khroma makeup line, claiming the Kardashian line will cheapen the high-end company he's built over the last 12 years.

It's worth noting ... you don't NEED to register a trademark to pursue trademark litigation -- so Rey may NOT be up the creek without a paddle.

And there's this -- while we were looking up the Kardashian trademarks, we came across another makeup company named "Kroma."

"Kroma" filed for its trademark in 2010 ... so that could be another obstacle for the Kardashians.

12:30 PM PT, 10/30/12 -- A rep for Kim tells TMZ, "Boldface licensing + branding has gone through the appropriate legal channels in obtaining the rights to use the name Khroma Beauty by Kourtney, Kim and Khloé in the Color Category with the United States Patent and Trademark Office."

The Kardashians have been accused of a cheap cover-up, stealing the name of a high-end make-up line and slapping it on their own drugstore brand ... so claims the dude who sells the fancy products.

Kim, Khloe and Kourtney are launching Khroma Beauty ... a cosmetics line you can get next month at not-so-fancy places like CVS, Sears, and Ulta.

Michael Rey, the co-owner of Chroma Makeup in Bev Hills tells TMZ ... his brand took 12 years of blood, sweat and tears to build and now boasts an A-List clientele -- but he grouses the Kardashians line cheapens his products and creates confusion in the marketplace.

Michael fears his high-end customers will run for other parts of the Hills ... thinking their primo cosmetics are not so primo after all ... and they'll be embarrassed to say they wear Chroma.

Michael says he's hired a legal team, but hasn't made contact with the Kardashians just yet. He hopes they'll change the name -- but if they don't he's prepared to take legal action.

Michael has drafted a letter to his customers making it as clear as concealer -- Chroma in NO WAY is associated with the "low-budget cosmetic products" the Kardashians are hocking.

Kris Jenner single-handedly SEALED THE DEAL to make Khloe Kardashian the new co-host on "X Factor" ... right when negotiations were on the verge of imploding ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected to the deal tell us ... negotiations had come to a grinding halt because E! and FOX couldn't seem to work out a deal that would allow Khloe to appear on both networks.

We're told "X Factor" was getting ready to pull the plug on talks with Khloe ... when Kris Jenner got word of the hold up and decided to take the bull by the horns.

Sources say Kris "stepped in over the agents ... over everyone" and forced both networks to sit down with her and hash out a deal ... which they eventually did.

As one source puts it, "She just knows how to make sh*t happen."

It's official ... Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez will be the new co-hosts of "X Factor" ... TMZ has confirmed with sources connected to the show.

Christian LaBella, the guy arrested early this morning for allegedly assaulting Lindsay Lohan, has several prior interactions with celebrities ... and he's posted all about it on his Facebook page.

LaBella was busted early this morning after he allegedly attacked Lohan following a dispute over pictures he took of the actress on his phone.

LaBella's Facebook page shows a guy who certainly enjoys taking pictures with celebs -- he's got pics with the likes of Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner (see above) and Joe Francis. He's also posed for pics with politicians Herman Cain and VP candidate Paul Ryan.

LaBella also says on his Facebook page that his aunt is Heather McDonald from the show "Chelsea Lately."

It's like something out of a bad spy movie ... Kourtney Kardashian's baby daddy Scott Disick received a handwritten letter this week from a fan, containing creepy instructions for a secret meet-up in a public library.

The letter was postmarked Friday, and the sender claims to have strong connections with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West -- insisting he's gotten them many "gigs" in the past.

The letter doesn't elaborate on what these "gigs" were -- but it seems the sender wants to get Scott some "gigs" too, writing, "I would like to meet you and Kim at Little Ferry Public Library [in New Jersey]."

Here's where it gets weird -- the fan then details specific instructions for the proposed meet-up, writing, "The parking lot is in the back on Redneck Road. Wells Fargo bank is next door. I will be there September 29, 2012 from 1130am to 130pm."

He continues, "There is a table next to computers 7 and 8 or you can sit by the corner. You can wear sunglasses or you can walk up to me with your glasses on and hand this note. Then I will know and we'll leave the library."

"I will give you more gigs."

He then addresses Kim directly, writing, "Kim you know what I look like. I will be wearing a green and black shirt. You can wear all white. No makeup ok." (That's asking a lot.)

Rockin' a sexy one piece suit that perfectly accentuated her gorgeous girls and tightly cinched her waist in ways no mere mortal could withstand, Kim cloaked her beloved booty with a long white shirt thing as she and big sis Kourtney enjoyed a walk on the beach.

Khloe Kardashian may actually be a little too popular for her own good ... because we've learned E! is throwing up roadblocks in the negotiations for Khloe to host "X Factor."

Multiple sources connected to the negotiations tell TMZ ... "X Factor" producers cannot sign Khloe to the show unless E! gives permission -- exclusivity is part of the Kardashian's contract with the network.

We're told the problem isn't so much that E! doesn't want Khloe to do Simon Cowell's show ... it's that Khloe would have to promote the program by spending a lot of time doing interviews, social media and making appearances, and E! is worried it might dilute Khloe's impact on their reality shows and also create time conflicts.

We are told, in the event that Khloe's deal falls apart, they would probably pick Mario Lopez as the second choice, but "X Factor" has its sights set on Khloe as a single host.

You're looking at the $6 million Miami mansion that Kim and Kourtney Kardashian will most likely call home for the next three months while filming their next spin-off show, TMZ has learned.

Sources close to the production tell TMZ ... crew members have been tasked with finding a home for the K-squad while they shoot their upcoming reality show "Kim and Kourtney Take Miami."

If you didn't watch the first "Kardashian" spin-off in Miami ... Khloe and Kourt stayed in hotels during their stay ... because they're swanky and awesome.

But this time around, Kourt -- a mother of 2 -- decided she wants to be in a house ... a really big house.

We're told ... the front-runner is the $5.8-million-dollar Mediterranean style MANSION pictured above ... which boasts 6 bedrooms, 6 1/2 baths ... over 5,000 square feet ... a pool ... AND an attached dock with room for a 100' boat.

Which they totally need.

Simon Cowell has made his decision ... he wants Khloe Kardashian to host "X Factor" and it's now in the hands of FOX -- network sources tell TMZ.

Our sources say Simon made the case that Khloe is a big draw who will complete the circle of making the show decidedly younger than last season. Khloe has a connection to Britney Spears and Demi Lovato and Simon believes the three of them create an authentic vibe that none of the other potential hosts bring to the table.

We're told FOX must now sign off on Simon's choice and that decision is expected within a week.

Khloe Kardashian may be doing her part to jump start the economy ... because TMZ has learned she's the front-runner to become the "X Factor" host and we're told the suits want it to happen.

Sources intimately connected to the show tell TMZ ... Khloe is definitely #1 among the women who tried out and is generally considered the best in the entire pack of host wannabes.

Khloe did a screen test that went over well. The suits -- including Simon Cowell (who has probably never worn a suit) -- believe Khloe makes the most sense in terms of audience draw, since they've already invested heavily in Britney Spears and Demi Lovato to attract young viewers.

Producers will make a decision soon. The host won't appear until the live shows air, and that begins next month.

Kim Kardashian has called an end to her war with Old Navy -- settling up with the clothing brand for big bucks ... after it allegedly used a Kim K look-alike in its advertising last year.

Kim's lawsuit was dismissed today in L.A. -- and sources close to Old Navy tell TMZ, the company agreed to pay Kim an undisclosed sum based on her look-alike claims. We're told both sides are pleased with the settlement, though the exact terms of the deal are undisclosed.

TMZ broke the story ... Kim sued Old Navy last July for MILLIONS, claiming it intentionally used a look-alike in an effort to dupe the public into thinking Kim was affiliated with the brand.
