Shia LaBeouf had a grand time exploring Vatican City in Rome with his father ... despite some outbursts in Italy during his trip for his dad's baptism.

Shia is as happy as can be observing the ornate artwork throughout ... even lying on his back at one point to get the perfect shot of a ceiling. There's more -- it's all in the clip.

As we've reported, Shia traveled to Italy for Jeffrey's baptism after a New Orleans judge granted him permission to travel following his battery arrest during Mardi Gras in February. The approval came after another judge originally denied his request to travel abroad between March 1 and March 8.

A horrible collision between an airplane and a fire truck on the runway at New York's LaGuardia Airport claimed the lives of 2 pilots overnight ... and there's now video being shared of the incident.

The actor and musician explained on Instagram that he was traveling with his Greek passport -- he's a dual citizen -- because his American passport was close to expiring. According to Chet, airline officials would not allow him to board his flight without the proper U.S. documentation required for re-entry.

As a result, he says he's stuck in Medellín until he can resolve the issue. Chet told his followers, the next step is heading to the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá to obtain emergency travel paperwork. "Free me," he captioned one post about the situation.

A Minnesota woman died after her arm was ripped clean off in a suspected shark attack off the coast of St. Croix in the Caribbean Sea.

According to the Virgin Islands Police Department, officers responded to a call about a woman who had presumably been bitten by a shark around 4:30 PM Thursday near Dorsch Beach on St. Croix.

Fire, marine units and EMS arrived on scene ...where they found the woman, already missing an arm. They searched for an additional reported victim but found no one.
