Legendary bassist John B. Williams -- best known for playing on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" -- is on hospice being cared for by 'round-the-clock nurses, TMZ has learned.

His wife, Jessica Williams, tells TMZ ... he recently suffered a fall and subsequently underwent brain surgery as a result of his injuries. Jessica, an accomplished musican herself, says John had dementia prior to the fall, but the fall greatly accelerated its progression.

At this point, John is unable to walk and can't talk, and his health is on the decline. We're told one if his last conversations was with his daughter.

The "Aquaman" star ditched his top while joining his band, ÖOF TATATÁ, for a sound check at The Red Dog in Pioneertown ... and if the abs didn't grab your attention, his guitar skills probably did.

Jason was spotted entertaining a crowd that gathered to catch the rehearsal ahead of the group's limited West Coast run, turning a simple sound check into its own mini show.

The Black Crowes are set to hit the stage tonight, days after they got into it with fans over a chant about the red, white and blue ... and the backlash hasn’t messed with ticket sales, TMZ has learned. 

A rep for the SJC Cultural Events, Inc., which owns the St. Augustine Amphitheatre where the group is performing Tuesday night, told TMZ this afternoon ... "At this point, we have not had any request for refunds."

At Sunday's show in Tampa, fans who attended the show claimed The Black Crowes’ singer Chris Robinson went off after the crowd started a patriotic chant … after seeing the band's Black Crowe character on the big screen dressed as Uncle Sam. 

Damon Dash is firing back at Jay-Z after his former Roc-A-Fella partner dissed him at the Roots Picnic ... and Damon isn't feeling the bars ... or the hair.

Speaking with "The Art of Dialogue," Damon dismissed the freestyle as recycled material, claiming Jay was leaning on old jokes and wasn't delivering the sharp lyricism he once brought to the table.

The fallout from The Black Crowes' onstage political dust-up on Sunday didn't end with boos ... it kept rolling straight toward the exits.

Check out the video we obtained ... concertgoers can be seen popping up from their seats and streaming out of the venue following frontman Chris Robinson's controversial comments during the band's Tampa show.

The clip shows a steady flow of fans heading for the aisles while others remain seated as the concert continues. Several sections appear noticeably in motion as attendees make their way toward the exits -- no longer interested in sticking around after the tense exchange.

Chris Robinson got into it with fans at The Black Crowes' Florida concert ... beefing with folks who started chanting "U-S-A."

Here's the deal ... the band was performing Sunday in Tampa as part of their "Southern Hospitality Tour" when a visual thrown on a screen reportedly showed the band's Black Crowe character dressed as Uncle Sam.

A source tells TMZ ... before the band started playing "She Talks to Angels," the crowd started chanting "U.S.A."

That's when Chris addressed the crowd, saying ... "Thanks for the geography lesson."

When the crowd kept chanting, Chris added ... "I don't know what you have to be so proud of right now."

Round of applause for Waka Flocka Flame ... he says he's about to become a biological father for the first time!!!

Waka -- real name Juaquin James Malphurs -- just shared the happy news on social media, and it looks like he's having a son named after him.

The "Round of Applause" rapper shared an image of him holding a wooden decoration shaped like an oversized "J" inscribed with "Juaquin Jr."

Foster Sylvers, the standout child star of the 1970s family R&B group The Sylvers, has died ... TMZ has learned.

Foster's brother, Leon Sylvers III, tells TMZ he died in hospice following a battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. More updates will come from their sister, Pat Sylvers.

The Sylvers skyrocketed to fame in the '70s with hits like "Fool's Paradise, "Boogie Fever," and "Hot Line." The group had many iterations during their decade in the spotlight ... the above photo shows James, Foster, Edmund, Ricky, and Angie.

6:30 PM PT -- Ronald LaPread died following a brief illness, his representative tells TMZ.

Ronald LaPread -- one of the founding members and bassist for soul band the Commodores -- has died.

His daughter, music producer Soraya LaPread, shared the sad news on social media Saturday. She did not divulge any details of his passing, but NZ Herald reported he died following a "sudden medical event" in Auckland. Ronald had been living in New Zealand since the 1980s.

TMZ has reached out so Soraya and the Commodores for comment ... so far, no word back.

The country star lost his cool during the first night of his weekend at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado ... when, while trying to sing his track, "Sand In My Boots," he experienced some technical difficulties.

Wallen couldn't seem to hear the piano ... so he tossed it instead. He then finished the rest of "Sand In My Boots" a cappella.

Ice argues music should bring people together -- not divide them -- and he doesn't care who's signing the check or hosting the party. In fact, he tells Harvey he'd happily show up if Biden called asking him to perform at a family wedding.

Bret Michaels is the latest musician to cancel their scheduled performance at the Trump-backed Great American State Fair's "Freedom 250" this summer.

The former Poison frontman announced on Thursday that he was bailing on the event -- touted as a celebration of America's 250th birthday -- noting that he was misled about its purpose when he booked it, saying ... "Unfortunately, what was presented to us as a celebration of our country has evolved into something much more divisive than what I agreed to be a part of."

He also said the "unfounded and unforgivable" threats over the event made him concerned for the safety of himself, his family, band, and crew.

Madonna was getting down with Gymskin on his live stream after the streamer secured an invite to her London home ... and their dancefloor chemistry was obvious.
