Speaking at Oliver's celebration of life Saturday at the UCSC Quarry Amphitheater in Santa Cruz ... his mother, Christine Begin Nickell, recalled texting him the day before he died to ask how quitting smoking was going.

She said Oliver immediately FaceTimed her and blew a huge puff of cigarette smoke into the camera ... but what stuck with her most was how happy and excited he seemed about life.

The canceled dates sparked questions among fans after the announcement, but we're told the move was strictly a scheduling decision and not related to any personal or medical issue.

The tension between Celeste Rivas and D4vd was at a boiling point before she was killed last April ... and it seems she was done with him.

This new information came to light Friday, during D4vd's preliminary hearing ... prosecutors showing text messages between the young teen and singer from August 2022 to March 2025, just a month before she was killed and dismembered.

In the March 2026 conversation, the 14-year-old girl told the singer she was through with him ... and that if they wanted to be friends ... it would only be online, never in person again.

The text read, "I don't want anything to do with you in person anymore." Later in the messages, D4vd told Celeste, "Yeah the boundary setting is terrible."

Celeste replied, "It's not even that, D, a lot more than just that."

In fact, prosecutors actually suggested Celeste's mother and father leave the courtroom ... telling them they shouldn't hear about the images ... and they exited in tears.

We're told the new couple checked out portraits of Barack and Michelle Obama and walked through the center with a member of Obama's team.

Jussie had a lot of drama in Chicago years ago, when he was accused of staging a hate crime hoax ... but it sounds like Karamo's the reason for the VIP visit.

Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds nearly took a nasty tumble ... almost wiping out while sprinting through the crowd during the band's performance ... and it's all on video.

Gruesome photos showing Celeste Rivas' dismembered and decomposing remains are so tough to look at, folks started pouring out of the courtroom after they were shown in court during D4vd's preliminary hearing.

During Friday's hearing, medical examiner Dr. Grant Ho -- who examined the young girl's body -- returned to the stand to describe incredibly graphic images presented by the prosecution.

At one point, Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman showed photos of Celeste's two amputated fingers ... eliciting gasps and shrieks from inside the courtroom.

Even D4vd looked away from the graphic image.
