Jason Oppenheim is opening the door for Christine Quinn to come back to his Netflix show "Selling Sunset" ... saying he's down with her returning, but the buck doesn't stop with him.
We got Jason in L.A. Thursday -- and our photog asked him if a recent reunion with Christine and other cast members is a sure sign she's gearing up to make a 'Sunset' comeback.
Jason tells us he would welcome Christine back with open arms and has no hard feelings ... but explains it's not his decision, rattling off the list of folks who would have to sign off on such a big move.

Joey Chestnut and his longtime nemesis Takeru Kobayashi are going head-to-head in a hot dog eating contest once again -- but it won't be part of the usual Fourth of July event ... it's a Labor Day extravaganza!!
The showdown is 15 years in the making -- the two last went at it in 2009 at the traditional Nathan's competition in Coney Island ... when Jaws beat Kobayashi to defend his mustard belt.
The timing of the announcement is pretty interesting -- on Tuesday, Major League Eating announced Chestnut was OUT of the Independence Day contest due to an endorsement deal he inked with a rival food company.

The alleged villain covered in Netflix's 'Dancing for the Devil' was the subject of two previous criminal investigations, but neither resulted in any charges ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us two sexual battery cases were filed against Robert Shinn and reported to LAPD in August 2023 -- which tracks with what was covered in the doc ... with some of his accusers coming forward and noting they'd gone to cops.
We're told one of the cases was filed by former 7M member Kylie Douglas, whose story was featured in the doc. Our sources say the LAPD conducted an investigation, and the case eventually landed at the L.A. City Attorney’s Office.

Fiona Harvey just filed a suit against the streaming giant -- and she's flat-out denying many of the actions Martha allegedly did in the limited series ... in which she's painted as an overly-obsessed stalker constantly hounding the main character, played by Richard Gadd.
In the docs, obtained by TMZ, Harvey alleges that Netflix created an easily accessible road map to allow viewers to track her down in real life and connect the dots to her identity.

Acclaimed cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema disagrees with Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos' stance that movies can be fully appreciated on a streamer/phone in the same way as on the big screen.
ICYMI, Ted faced online ridicule for saying his son watched the 1962 classic "Lawrence of Arabia" on his phone, and also singled out last year's "Oppenheimer," for which Hoyte won an Oscar, as a film that would be equally enjoyed away from the big screen.
Hoyte makes it clear to TMZ ... while he has no ill will toward Ted, he believes a pocket-sized screen doesn't hold a candle to the traditional theatrical experience.
