The "Chucky" look-alike manhunt has finally come to an end, and everyone can breathe a sigh of relief ... because the guy has been scooped up by the feds in Nevada!

Zymire Hughes -- who allegedly donned a Chucky-style mask and scared the crap out of people in Philadelphia -- was arrested Tuesday night by the United States Marshals Service in Las Vegas, according to authorities.

The U.S. Marshals posted a photo on X showing two of their officers taking the alleged Chucky wannabe into custody after learning that he was reportedly hiding out in an apartment complex in southeast Vegas. The officers conducted surveillance inside the complex to locate Hughes and then moved in to arrest him without incident.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Haden died by suicide inside the San Diego federal building where he worked ... TMZ has learned.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office tells TMZ ... Haden hanged himself inside an office at the Edward J. Schwartz Federal Building in downtown San Diego.

The California Post first reported the news.

Haden's body was discovered last Wednesday after San Diego police received a report he was possibly missing. Officers responded to the federal building and found him dead inside an office.

Brittany Romano says she's received violent death threats over the image of her smiling during the Lindsay Clancy trial.

The freelance reporter took to Instagram to explain her expression, saying ... "I smile through anxiety. I smile when I'm uncomfortable. That is not indifference, it is a nervous system managing strain the only way it knows how."

Brittany says she's been fighting to cover the Lindsay Clancy case for years because Lindsay had been called a "monster" and her husband Patrick got to tell his story ... she says she went to Vanity Fair wanting to "rebalance the scales."

In a heated moment from Lindsay's murder trial Tuesday, defense attorney Kevin Reddington hammers Dr. Kirk Heilbrun over his testimony that Lindsay should've asked for advice from friends and family -- and looked up medications herself when she was feeling her postpartum symptoms before the kids were strangled to death.

Reddington was blown away by the testimony ... and tried to use the statement to show how his client was not properly cared for by other doctors prior to the horrific events.

Vince Zampella was sober as a judge when he crashed his sports car on a mountainous stretch of highway near Los Angeles and died.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner says the "Call of Duty" creator tested negative for alcohol, illicit drugs, marijuana, and prescription meds when he lost control of his car and crashed into a concrete barrier wall.

We broke the story ... Vince died from smoke inhalation, thermal injuries, and blunt force trauma ... meaning he didn't die on impact.

The biological mother at the center of the McKenna West surrogate baby battle broke down in court Tuesday ... accusing West of trying to steal her child.

Nausheen Gilkar sobbed as she testified in Dallas ... saying West is now trying to claim the baby she and her husband hired her to carry.

As TMZ previously reported ... the baby -- whom West calls Gabriel and the biological parents call "Rumi" -- was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and is in critical condition after heart surgery.

McKenna West's baby Gabriel's health is declining days after his complex heart surgery … and he is in critical condition. 

According to court docs obtained by TMZ, Nausheen Gilkar and Omar Ahmed, the biological parents who are battling McKenna over custody of the boy, claim the newborn they call "Rumi" underwent a complex open-heart surgery called the Norwood Procedure.

They say in the last 24 hours, "Serious medical developments have arisen that impact the health and safety of the child. The child is in critical condition and being closely monitored at the hospital."

Austin Metcalf's father says Karmelo Anthony might be the one in jail, but it's the Metcalf family that's serving a life sentence.

Jeff Metcalf sat down for an interview with "Good Morning America" ... and he was asked if he feels he and his family ultimately got justice after Karmelo was found guilty and sentenced to 35 years behind bars for stabbing Austin to death.

He says he doesn't feel the family got real justice in the case ... because he, his wife Meghan, and their other son Hunter all got metaphorical life sentences after Austin was killed.

The New York State Department of Health says it is taking a closer look at allegations involving doctors connected to Jeffrey Epstein, telling us the claims raised in recent media reports are "deeply troubling" and warrant review.

A spokesperson for the New York State Department of Health tells TMZ the agency cannot discuss details of ongoing investigations but says officials are taking the allegations seriously.

The spokesperson added that the department "condemns any abuse by medical staff and any abuse of a physician's role that undermines patient trust and safety, including any predatory or unlawful behavior."

3:19 PM PT -- Brittany Romano responded to the developments with a lengthy message on Instagram ... saying in part, "I am a credentialed, freelance journalist, and Vanity Fair allegedly told TMZ they revoked my access over the smile, which is absurd, since I never had a contract with them for a piece to begin with."

The Vanity Fair reporter who went viral for her unsettling grin and wink during the Lindsay Clancy murder trial has to find something new to smile about ... because the outlet has called off the essay from her they planned on running.

A spokesperson for VF's parent company, Condé Nast, tells TMZ ... "We were interested in the prospect of a personal essay by Brittany Romano about her experience growing up with Lindsay Clancy. Yesterday, after clear conflicts with our editorial standards and processes, we informed Romano that we were not moving forward with her essay and informed the court that she is no longer credentialed by Vanity Fair."

Romano went viral on Monday, when a camera panning the courtroom caught her in the front row of the gallery ... she mugged for the camera, with a super creepy smile ... and even freaking winked.

Three juveniles and an 18-year-old are in a heap of legal trouble after going on a joyride in a stolen SUV and crashing into another vehicle, killing a grandmother and her longtime partner, according to New Jersey prosecutors and media reports. 

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office tells TMZ ... Nayshaun Brown, 18, and his three juvenile cohorts allegedly stole the SUV last Saturday morning and took it for a spin in Mays Landing, NJ. NJ.com reported that the four were trying to elude police at the time of the crash.

Prosecutors say the suspects got into a head-on collision with another vehicle carrying Robert Barr Jr., 54, and Alice Stilwell, 67, both of whom died. Stilwell was reportedly a grandmother who was Barr's "long term partner."

Ghislaine Maxwell just struck out in her latest bid to get out of prison ... with a federal judge absolutely shredding her arguments.

According to court docs obtained by TMZ, Judge Paul Engelmayer denied Maxwell's request to toss her sex trafficking conviction and 20-year prison sentence ... calling her claims "demonstrably meritless."

Here's the deal ... Brittany Romano stole the show Monday, when a camera panning the courtroom caught her in the front row of the gallery ... she mugged for the camera, with a smile meant for a horror flick ... and she added a wink for good measure.

A streamer caught up with Brittany in the parking lot and asked her why the heck she was grinning ear-to-ear in a setting that was anything but joyful.

Her answer ... she "grew up with Lindsay" ... and also she was mugging for her dad.

A Mexican bull-running festival turned deadly over the weekend ... with two people killed and 11 others injured as raging bulls tore through the streets.

Video circulating online shows one man being relentlessly trampled by a bull ... and in another clip, a bull roughs up a woman, throwing her onto her back.

The man had to be dragged from the street ... and the woman somehow managed to escape on foot.

21 bulls were released in the streets ... and the powerful animals killed 29-year-old Juan Manuel Filomeno Herrera and another man.

12:54 PM PT -- Jed York filed for divorce three months before he he was arrested ... TMZ Sports has confirmed.

10:27 AM PT -- The NFL tells TMZ Sports they're investigating the York arrest.

"We are aware of the matter which will be reviewed under the personal conduct policy," a league spokesperson said.

San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York landed in an Ohio jail Sunday ... after being arrested on suspicion of engaging in prostitution.

York was busted in East Palestine and booked into the Columbiana County Jail before posting $5,000 bond.

The case moved quickly from there ... prosecutors amended the original engaging-in-prostitution count to misdemeanor disorderly conduct before York pleaded no contest Monday.

York also pleaded no contest to possessing criminal tools -- a misdemeanor.
