Burt Reynolds is being treated in the intensive care unit at a Florida hospital ... after coming down with a nasty case of the flu ... TMZ has learned.

According to Burt's rep ... Burt, like everyone else in the country, caught that nasty flu bug that's been going around ... and was coping with the symptoms for several days.

But the symptoms got worse, and Burt was admitted to the hospital. The rep tells us Burt was moved to the ICU earlier today after doctors determined he was "severely dehydrated."

The good news -- we're told doctors are optimistic that he will make a full recovery.

We're told Reynolds' mustache is also doing OK.

Corin Nemec -- star of the '90s sitcom "Parker Lewis Can't Lose" -- is recovering from emergency surgery ... after he shattered his leg and lost TONS of blood in a bad boating accident this weekend.

Nemec says he was on board a Coast Guard vessel in Belize on Saturday morning -- on his way to shoot a scene for a movie -- when the boat crashed into a semi-submerged barge.

Nemec claims he suffered major injuries in the wreck -- and was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery.

The actor -- who was working on the movie "Poseidon Rex" -- told a local news reporter, "We hit the sinking barge, and that is what filled the boat to one side immediately with an enormous amount of force, and that threw me into the side of the boat where I shattered my femur in 3 places."

41-year-old Nemec says the break was so bad, he lost over half the blood in his body -- and he required multiple blood transfusions to save his life.

"Everybody onboard that boat, including the gentlemen working for the Coast Guard, everyone is lucky to be alive," Nemec said.

It's been roughly 6 weeks since Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew had surgery to fix his busted foot ... but last night, the dude was back in public and rollin' around Hollywood ... literally.

MJD hit up Supperclub in L.A. last night ... with the help of a modified scooter to keep the pressure off his left foot.

FYI -- Maurice injured his foot back in October, but for some unexplained reason, waited until the end of December to go under the knife. Neither Jones nor the Jags have revealed any specifics about the injury.

MJD definitely isn't the first athlete to hit the Hollywood club scene while sportin' a delicate injury -- L.A. Dodgers star Matt Kemp took his busted shoulder out to Supperclub just 4 days after rotator cuff surgery.

Jack Black is the latest celeb victim of the flu epidemic, and for some not-so-mysterious reason we keep seeing 'em all on the same street ... the same doctor-infested street. Wonder why?

Jail has broken Dr. Conrad Murray ... physically and mentally ... this according to The Doc himself, who's been calling everyone he knows HYSTERICALLY CRYING and complaining that he's in "constant pain."

TMZ has obtained one of the voicemails Murray recently left for a friend ... in which he sobs uncontrollably and begs for someone to save him.

During the message, Murray says, "I can't sleep now ... it's very hard ... I'm in constant pain ... can someone please help me please!?"

Ironic, since sleep trouble is why he's in jail in the first place -- only it was Michael Jackson who couldn't catch some zzzzs.

Murray says he's been crippled by a devastating shoulder injury -- "I can't use my hands anymore ... I have no more use of my arms."

The Doc says he's been calling everyone he knows for help -- but no one picked up.

Jets head coach Rex Ryan capped off his train wreck of a season with ANOTHER major accident last week in Pennsylvania -- this time involving his red Mustang and two other cars ... after Rex reportedly ran a red light.

Rex was driving along a road in Bethlehem, PA around 6PM last Monday when he allegedly ran the light and rammed another car -- which then crashed into a third vehicle ... this according to Deadspin.com.

According to the report, Rex denied to police that he was speeding ... but did NOT deny running the red light.

Police described the damage to all three vehicles as "moderate." There were no injuries. So far, no word if Rex was cited in connection with the accident.

It's unclear why Rex was driving around Bethlehem last week -- but there's talk he was in town to meet with the Jets brand new offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg (previously of the Eagles).

Scary moment at the Gin Blossoms concert in New York this weekend ... when the bass player COLLAPSED right on the stage ... and the whole thing was caught on tape.

The 90s band was playing a gig at The Paramount Friday night -- and right in the middle of their smash hit "Hey Jealousy" ... Bill Leen stumbled backwards and crashed to the floor, appearing to pass out.

In the video, you can see a stagehand race over to help out while Bill is sprawled out on the floor.

Bill was dazed and confused when he hit the ground ... but we're told he was back to normal moments later and refused further medical attention.

"Real Housewives of Miami" star Alexia Echevarria says she was inundated with medical bills after her son's tragic car crash and now she's suing her insurance broker for $2 million ... claiming her massive bills are all their fault.

Echevarria filed a lawsuit in Florida court against a company called Garcia Lorenzo & Associates ... claiming they dropped the ball when it came to executing her insurance policy.

Echevarria's 13-year-old son was in a "catastrophic" car accident back in 2011 which landed him in the ICU with severe bodily injuries, including a brain injury. In the suit, Alexia says thanks to GL's shoddy coverage, she was faced with millions of dollars in medical bills.

Echevarria claims that when she signed with the company back in 2008, she asked for a special type of extra coverage -- the exact coverage that would have helped curb the costs from her son's accident. She claims the company carelessly left it out.

Barbara Walters was taken to a hospital Saturday night after cutting her head following a fall, but is alert and doing well.

Walters was visiting the British Ambassador’s residence when she fell on a stair and cut her forehead.

Jeffrey W. Schneider, senior vice president of ABC News, tells POLITICO, "Out of an abundance of caution, she went to the hospital to have her cut tended to, have a full examination and remains there for observation. Barbara is alert (and telling everyone what to do), which we all take as a very positive sign."

Bode Miller's wife, volleyball champ Morgan Beck, is no longer pregnant ... announcing on Twitter that she lost the baby this weekend.

Morgan announced the miscarriage Saturday, tweeting "Pretty hard morning. We lost the baby. Pretty broken hearted, but getting through it."

FYI -- Morgan and Bode married in October and only recently announced the pregnancy in December.

Rapper Bone Crusher wasn't rolling around a Minnesota mall in a motorized cart this week because he's fat -- despite reports to the contrary -- he tells TMZ, he's got a REAL reason for being temporarily handicapped.

Mr. Crusher tells us, he recently underwent serious knee surgery to repair an injury he sustained a few years ago in Germany, when he was performing for U.S. troops stationed abroad ... and stupidly jumped off stage.

Crush -- real name Wayne Hardnett, Jr. -- says he's been rehabbing the knee since the surgery and that's why he had to use the motorized cart. The rapper says he can walk just fine, just not for extended periods of time ... yet.

That said, Crusher -- who currently weighs roughly 360 pounds -- admits the photos that surfaced on the web this week weren't so flattering, telling TMZ, "I'm definitely trying to lose weight. I want to get myself back down to where I was on 'Celebrity Fit Club.'"

Crusher says his goal weight is 250, and he's already lost roughly 40 pounds since focusing on his weight again.

Hugh Jackman's Golden Globes acceptance speech last night was stuffed up with TERRIBLE ADVICE -- when he jokes that flu shots aren't necessary -- and now, the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention are on a mission to correct his message.

A rep for the CDC tells TMZ, "I don’t know if he really meant that vaccination was not a good thing to do, but each year millions become ill with influenza; more than 200,000 may be hospitalized; and between 3,000 and 49,000 will die."

The rep adds, "The first and most important step in protecting against the flu is to get a flu vaccine each season."

For those who missed the show, Hugh took the stage after winning Best Actor in a comedy or musical -- and joked, "Sorry, I’m at the tail end of this flu and I was kicking myself for not getting the flu shot ... but it appears actually you don’t need one. I feel great!"

Hulk Hogan claims the Laser Spine Institute in Florida is a total sham ... and it's doctors DUPED him into undergoing multiple bogus procedures that were completely useless and damaged his career to the tune of $50 MILLION ... this according to a new lawsuit.

Hogan filed the suit in Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court, claiming he turned to the LSI in 2009 when he seeking treatment for multiple lumbar spinal abnormalities including scoliosis and multiple bulging discs.

In his suit, Hogan claims he fell for a sales pitch which masqueraded as "medical advice" and allowed the LSI to perform multiple surgeries on his back.

Hogan claims the procedures actually made him feel worse in the long run -- and blames the institute for not advising him that the laser treatment is only a temporary solution, not a permanent one.

Hogan claims he eventually had to undergo major back surgery with a different set of doctors -- and they actually fixed his back.

Now, Hogan says he wants LSI to pay for screwing him up -- and for causing him to miss out on employment opportunities in the entertainment world that would have netted him tens of millions of dollars.

And to add insult to injury, Hulk says LSI used his name and image to promote their business without his permission.

He's suing for more than $50 mil in damages. So far, no comment from LSI.

The LSI released a statement saying they "acknowledge" the filing of the lawsuit ... but add, "To protect patient privacy as well as the legal process, we do not discuss the details of litigation matters."
