Scary news from Tour de France winner Chris Froome -- the cyclist was involved in a violent crash during a training session ... sustaining serious injuries, including broken ribs and a fractured back.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when Froome -- a two-time Olympic medalist -- was working out solo in a small French city.

"Chris was airlifted to a hospital in Toulon yesterday afternoon following a serious training crash," his team said in a statement on Thursday. "No other cyclists or vehicles were involved."

Good news for Stuart "Syko Stu" Smith on the medical front ... the pro wrestler is conscious and communicating from his hospital bed, according to Douglas Malo, the man who came to the rescue and stopped Raja Jackson during the brutal attack.

"[Stu] remembers mostly what happened during the early parts of the day. He's talking a little bit. He's alert. He's still got some injuries that are very serious. Not, like, life-threatening serious, but, facial injuries, stuff like that," Malo told TMZ Sports.

Smith has been hospitalized since the violent and ugly incident on Saturday ... which could've been significantly worse if Malo hadn't stepped in and stopped Raja's attack.

An out-of-control driver doing donuts slammed into a crowd of pedestrians at high speed, sending people flying into the air ... and it was all caught on video.

The insanity all went down early Monday morning at an illegal L.A. "street takeover" as the large crowd looked on ... the rapidly reversing car jumped a curb at a Compton intersection and smashed into several people standing nearby -- audible gasps are heard in the video as witnesses rush over to check if anyone’s hurt in the chaotic scene at about 2 AM, KTLA-TV reports.

An L.A. County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson said deputies didn’t respond to this exact scene, but were called to a street takeover about three miles away at around the same time.

Raja Jackson, the son of former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, went beast mode during a match Saturday night ... violently attacking his competitor with blows to the head despite him already being knocked out.

The disturbing footage from the event's Kick livestream shows the victim -- Stuart Smith, whose ring name is Syko Stu -- being slammed to the ground ... a move that seemingly knocked him out cold. Raja then mounts his unresponsive body, delivering hit after hit until he's pulled off.

The incident occurred at a private wrestling event by KnokX Pro Academy in Los Angeles, and according to wrestling reporter Sean Ross, Syko ended up in the hospital.

NASCAR racer Connor Zilisch was forced to pump the brakes on celebrating his big Xfinity Series win in New York Saturday when he tumbled from his car and broke his collarbone.

The horrific ordeal was caught on video -- Connor was climbing onto the roof of his No. 88 Chevrolet racecar to celebrate his W when his left foot seemingly got stuck in his window ... making him take a hard fall to the ground.

Paramedics quickly arrived to render aid ... and he was transported from Victory Lane at Watkins Glen International to a local hospital "awake and alert" for further evaluation.
