25 years after the Twin Towers in New York City were struck by hijacked American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, we honor those affected, and we never forget the lives lost and the devastation of that day.

The harrowing photos from that tragic Tuesday captured moments of unimaginable fear, heartbreak, and courage.

The Pentagon was also targeted that morning, when American Airlines Flight 77 was hijacked and crashed into the building, killing 184 people.

We also remember the 44 lives lost on United Airlines Flight 93 that was also hijacked but crashed into a field in Pennsylvania.

Twenty-five years later, these powerful images remain a haunting reminder of the lives lost and the selfless bravery of those who rushed to help.

The wife of Yoel Rodriguez Naranjo -- one of the 5 victims who died when an Amazon cargo plane crashed into his van at Miami International Airport -- is suing over her husband's death.

Yaraisi Santiso Morejon filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Amazon, Amazon Air Cargo and 21 Air ... as well as the plane's pilots, Joseph Carroll and Jaime Felipe Silva Molina ... according to the filing obtained by NBC News.

In the suit -- which seeks damages in excess of $50,00 -- she claims the crash was a "foreseeable and preventable result of multiple, concurrent failures."

One of the two pilots involved in Sunday's deadly Amazon cargo plane crash reportedly said his career was over just moments after the disaster that killed 5 people.

The National Transportation Safety Board identified the two pilots of the cargo jet as Felipe Silva Molina and Joseph Carroll, both of whom escaped the crash with just minor injuries.

As you know, the plane -- traveling from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Florida -- overshot the runway at Miami International Airport, plowing into vehicles on a roadway nearby. Five people were killed, and five others were injured. 

Martha Stewart says she warned John F. Kennedy Jr. that he should have a copilot before he died in a fatal 1999 plane crash with his wife, Carolyn Bessette, and her sister, Lauren.

Martha made the stunning revelation on Tuesday's episode of "The Real Housewives of New York City," telling her fellow cast member, Daisy Toye, about her discussion with JFK Jr. days before his small plane plummeted into the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Martha's Vineyard, killing everyone on board.

At the time, JFK Jr. was a new pilot manning the controls of the plane when it flew into a dense fog, causing him to become confused and the aircraft to nose-dive and crash into the ocean.

The Amazon cargo plane that crashed at Miami International Airport barreled about 1,300 feet past the runway, smashing into multiple vehicles and fences before finally stopping ... federal investigators said Monday.

NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy said the plane first hit a Ford Econoline van carrying 7 airport cleaning workers after overrunning the runway. The jet then tore through a perimeter fence, hit a Toyota Corolla Cross driving on a nearby street and continued before slamming into another fence.

She called the scene "devastating," saying the van was "torn apart," and debris was scattered across the area.

Police launched a desperate search for an American family after their small plane apparently crashed off the coast of the Bahamas ... and officials say two grandparents and their two grandchildren were on board.

In a statement, the Royal Bahamas Police Force said a PA-34 Piper five-seater aircraft with four people aboard took off from Great Harbour Cay late Monday morning en route to Opa-locka, Florida, and apparently crashed about 45 minutes later off the coast of Red Bays, North Andros in the Bahamas.

It's unclear what caused the plane to plummet.

The RBPF also said air traffic control lost contact with the plane about 13 miles west of Andros Island, noting that bad weather had prevented them from searching for the family for a period of time.

Firefighters sprang into action, trying to pull survivors from a charred cockpit after Sunday's deadly Amazon cargo plane disaster in Miami ... and new video shows the dramatic rescue attempt.

In the video ... you can see several firefighters standing around a ladder extending from the tarmac to the plane's cockpit window.

Another firefighter is perched on the top of the ladder, trying to remove people from inside the plane through the open window.

2:40 PM PT -- The death toll has climbed in the Amazon cargo plane crash at Miami International Airport ... with authorities saying 5 people are dead and 5 others were injured.

Higgins says the plane overshot the runway and struck vehicles on a nearby road before coming to a stop.

The Amazon cargo plane crash at Miami International Airport is now a fatal accident ... with officials confirming at least one person was killed Sunday, according to dispatch audio obtained by TMZ.

The death marks a grim turn in the crash, which sent an Amazon Air Boeing 767 off the runway and into a roadway near the airport.

Authorities have not yet identified who died or the full toll from the crash ... though the dispatch audio indicates a deceased patient was found beneath the plane’s right wing.

1:20 PM PT -- Amazon said in a statement posted to X ... "We can confirm that an Amazon Air plane operated by 21 Air experienced an incident while attempting to land at Miami International Airport today. This is a fast-moving situation and we're still gathering details."

They added ... "We're working closely with local authorities and officials to understand exactly what happened. Right now, our absolute priority is the safety, well-being, and care of everyone involved. We're doing everything we can to support those affected."

An Amazon cargo plane crashed at Miami International Airport Sunday ... leaving the jet stretched across a roadway as flames and thick black smoke poured from the wreckage.

The Boeing 767 was arriving in Miami from San Juan, Puerto Rico around 2 PM when things went horribly wrong ... with video from the scene showing the massive aircraft down just outside the airport.

The plane appears to have remained largely intact after the crash, though it was visibly scorched as emergency crews swarmed the scene.

Late NASCAR star Greg Biffle’s ex-wife, Nicole Biffle, wants his estate to pay hefty damages after she lost her daughter in a plane crash ... TMZ has learned.

According to court docs obtained by TMZ, Nicole filed a claim against the late driver's estate in the amount of $10 million for Emma Biffle’s death on December 18, 2025, in North Carolina.

Emma was on board the fatal flight with Greg, and Nicole has already filed a wrongful death action against the estate.  In the new docs, Nicole is asking for an order preventing the estate from making any further distributions to ensure there is money left over to pay her claim and similar ones filed by the estates of others who died in the crash.

Aaliyah's uncle claims his son is partly to blame for the late singer's death ... lobbing the bombshell allegation as the two fight over money in court.

TMZ obtained a lawsuit filed by Jomo Hankerson against Barry Hankerson and his record label Blackground Records. Barry is Aaliyah's uncle and longtime manager. Jomo is Barry's son and Aaliyah's cousin.

In the docs, Barry claims Aaliyah's cousin was paid to coordinate travel for her music video shoot in the Bahamas ... referring to the fateful August 2001 trip where she died in a plane crash.

Aaliyah's uncle says his son "failed in his responsibility" to handle travel plans ... and she instead took a private jet that crashed and killed everyone onboard.

Scary moment at LAX ... a DHL cargo jet caught fire during an emergency landing ... and it's all on video.

The fiery landing went down Wednesday night around 11 PM as the DHL plane arrived in Los Angeles from Phoenix ... and flames were shooting out from underneath the fuselage when the massive jet touched down ... with fire burning as the plane screeched down the runway.

It's unclear what caused the fire ... but several loud pops were heard upon landing, and the pilot indicated to air traffic control that the brakes locked up and there were tire failures.

Travis Barker felt like he was trapped in his own personal horror film after he survived a plane crash ... and he believed death would catch up to him like in "Final Destination."

Here's the deal ... back in 2008, Travis and his friend Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein survived a plane crash which killed 4 other people. The following year, Goldstein died from a drug overdose -- which is when Travis began to really struggle with his trauma.

Travis tells People he felt like -- given what had happened -- he was living in "Final Destination" ... and he feared going out because he worried he'd end up dead.

A seaplane carrying 11 people crashed in the Puget Sound area near Seattle ... and everyone survived the flaming wreck ... which sounds like a miracle once you see the crash video.

Kenmore Air says the aircraft -- a de Havilland DHC-3 Otter -- made an emergency landing Thursday near Shallow Bay in the San Juan Islands ... and new footage shows the fiery wreckage.

There were 11 people on board -- 10 passengers and a pilot -- and everyone is alive ... though one is said to be in critical condition.

Kenmore Air says all 11 were transported to local hospitals ... and law enforcement says injuries ranged from head injuries to broken bones and cuts.

Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger says he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's last year ... though he's not letting it stop him from living his life.

The pilot -- who famously landed a commercial airplane on the Hudson River during a 2009 emergency -- says he was diagnosed in August 2025 after he noticed he'd begun to forget things.

In a statement, Sully explained ... "It is early stage. For now, this means a name may not come easily to me, I forget a story I have recently told, or I don’t sleep as well, but I am in the beginning of this long journey.”
