Before the steak date began, Katie made a solo appearance at the 2006 Women's Image Network Awards honoring Senator Barbara Boxer. Directly after the ceremony, the couple met up and headed to the pricey Beverly Hills eatery. And if you had any doubt in your mind ... yes, Suri stayed home, again.

Not letting any grass grow since getting canned by Viacom's Sumner Redstone, Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner are setting up shop under the resurrected United Artists/MGM banner, with Tom and Paula getting full control of the company's production slate, and Wagner taking the title of CEO of UA.

The reborn studio, originally formed by Charlie Chaplin, Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks and D.W. Griffith, will purportedly give producers, writers, directors and actors a talent-friendly production environment, assuming, of course, that they take no shots at Scientology. Cruise and Wagner have produced films with worldwide box office grosses exceeding $2.9 billion.

Katie Holmes seemed to forget the firestorm of controversy created by her man with regard to Brooke Shields this weekend, when she ran into Tom's former abuse-target at a private party in Los Angeles. Katie's face lit up as she gazed upon Brooke's daughter Grier, and the love-fest (however polite and camera-ready) continued throughout the rest of the conversation.

Looks like any ill-will concerning Tom Cruise's bashing of and subsequent apology to Brooke about her use of medication for her post-partum depression seem to have melted away.

With Tom Cruise apparently concerned about her bod, Katie Holmes proved he has little reason to worry as she showed up to his daughter's soccer game lookin' hot over the weekend.

According to sources, Cruise was willing to do whatever it takes so his bride-to-be "looks the best that she can walking next to him down the aisle," and so far ... it's working! As the wedding date rapidly approaches, Holmes is clearly ready to swap I-do's, looking toned up and slimmed down for the Giorgio Armani wedding dress she'll reportedly be wearing at Giorgio's Italian villa.

As she made her way to and from the game, Holmes looked as though she took a play straight out of the Tom Cruise "How to Treat the Paparazzi" playbook -- acting overly gracious to photogs and walking extremely slow so nobody missed the shot.

The two are set to marry November 18th in Italy.

For the first time this season, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were a no-show at Tom's daughter Isabella's soccer game this weekend -- begging the question, what kind of a major event is so important, that it would draw the couple away from their usual sideline seats? Hmm ... maybe a wedding?

While TMZ couldn't confirm that TomKat were actually out prepping for the big day, we could confirm that Tom called in a surrogate soccer mom for the weekend -- his mother Mary Lee Mapother. No word on whether Mary Lee was responsible for bringing the halftime oranges or the postgame snack.

The actor, along with his fiancé Katie Holmes, never seems to miss any of his daughter's soccer games -- and this weekend was no exception. The couple was treated to an extra special moment this time though, when Isabella scored one of the team's goals. After the game, Tom did some scoring of his own when a photog offered to hook up the proud papa with a copy of the game.

Katie was born a Roman Catholic and went to parochial schools growing up in Toledo, Ohio, and so it would only be fitting for her to be married with the usual Catholic rites -- not in a Scientology ceremony, in which the bride is sometimes called a "girl" marrying a "man" and in which one of the solemn "pacts" of marriage is that the couple agree not to go to bed angry. The Holmes family has not commented publicly on the situation, though the TomKat mothers were spotted recently having lunch with their children. Cruise's rep maintains that the couple will be married sometime in the fall.

Turns out one of the rubber stunt guns used by Tom Cruise during filming of "Mission Impossible 2" is now up for auction on eBay. According to the seller, the rubber Beretta 92FS Brigadier was the very hand cannon waved around by Tom Cruise throughout the production, when he wasn't firing a live gun of course. Which begs the question -- Why was Tom firing a live gun on the set?

But, if pretend violence isn't exactly your cup of tea, maybe some original doodle art by Mr. Cruise and his ex-wife Mimi Rogers would tickle your fancy. An eBay seller claims the "art" was originally drawn for charity and includes signatures from both Tom and Mimi. We have no idea what the crazy design is supposed to represent, but it really doesn't matter. Just think about how cool Rosie O'Donnell will think you are when it's hanging on your wall.

Cruise had a busy day Saturday watching his son Connor's football and daughter Isabella's soccer games, but in the time it took to get from his SUV to the playing field, you could have watched all three "Mission: Impossible" movies.

TomKat was a distant second with nearly 9%, with Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore behind them with 7.5%.

It seems Tom Cruise has a new mission these days -- helping Katie Holmes reclaim her former hardbodied physique. According to sources close to the couple, Tom has become "very concerned" about her appearance these days, and has become directly involved with Katie's workout regimen as a result.

Could it be that Katie Holmes has gone through a dramatic weight-loss regimen to get herself in shape so she can pour herself into a wedding dress? According to a report this morning, her baby daddy/fiance Tom Cruise has been "eager" to get Katie to get fit, and that evidently she's done him proud.

"Katie has lost a lot of weight. A lot," tells an observer to MSNBC's Jeannette Walls. "I've heard that Tom was eager to get her back in shape. Looks like she made him happy. And then some." The prevailing buzz, of course, is that a TomKat wedding is imminent, and Cruise's rep Arnold Robinson has maintained all along that the pair will be getting married sometime this fall.
