Carter to Seacrest: Engagement Was a 'Mistake'
Aaron Carter told E! News anchor Ryan Seacrest what everyone knew all along -- that his engagement to Kari Ann Peniche was a "mistake."
"I made the mistake and she made a mistake too," Carter said in his first on-camera interview since the news broke. "We both did."
Carter made headlines last week by proposing to former Playboy Playmate Kari Ann Peniche in Las Vegas after only knowing her for 5 days. Peniche previously dated Carter's older brother, Nick.
Be sure to tune into E! News tonight at 7PM ET/PT for the full interview. And, in a complete programming coincidence, Aaron's new show, "House of Carters," premieres Monday October 2 at 9PM ET/PT.
A Quarter Century Never Looked So Good
On September 25, 1969 in Swansea, Wales Catherine Zeta-Jones was being delivered from her mother's womb into the world. On that same day, her husband Michael Douglas was celebrating his 25th birthday.
On Sunday, Michael and Catherine commemorated the eve of their shared birthdays by having dinner at London's Wolseley Restaurant.
Monday also marked an extra special day for Michael because besides turning 62, he is now eligible to start receiving his federal retirement benefits. Obviously, Catherine still has a ways to go as she's only 37.
While there's no word on how the duo will spend their day, one thing's for sure, with 99 candles between them, they're going to need one mighty large cake.
Despite their quarter century age difference, the Oscar-winning actors have been happily married for nearly six years and have two children together.

Though whispers of wedding talk have been swirling, Knowles shot them down, saying they're all "big fat rumors." An ever-optimistic Beyoncé added, "One day I hope to be married with children."
Though Knowles recently told reporters she plans on winning a Tony, Oscar and Grammy in her lifetime she tells DeGeneres she'd like to take more breaks between projects.
"I don't want to retire at thirty, I want to relax...I still want to make albums and movies, but at a slower pace."

Is Bruce Running Into Another Woman's Arms?
The New York Post reports that Bruce Springsteen's long time marriage to Patti Scialfa is in deep trouble.
The alleged problem is Bruce's blossoming friendship with a stunning 9/11 widow the Boss met when he organized the "America: A Tribute to Heroes" telethon. The two have been spotted several times at the Beacon Hill Beach Club and the Stone Pony, the Asbury Park watering hole made famous in "Glory Days."
The Post quotes several "friends" of Springsteen who can't seem to decide on whether the couple is on the rocks or not. One friend says "They're separated, but everyone has been sworn to secrecy," while another friend states "He's just a really big flirt. There's nothing going on. Bruce and Patti are very much partners. They go at it a lot and fight, but they also work at it a lot... Patti is a strong woman. They are not going anywhere." Confused yet? So are we.
A Springsteen representative declined comment.
Tori to Mom: You Cheaped Out My Wedding
With reports of Tori Spelling's recent money woes, TMZ has learned that it was her first wedding that got the ball rolling in the rift between the "90210" star and her mother -- eventually leading to Tori's inheritance being torpedoed.
Tori was married to Charlie Shanian in July of 2004 at the Spelling's 56,000 square foot Holmby Hills estate and Candy Spelling planned the whole thing. She opened her wallet big time, hiring famed wedding planner Mindy Weiss and the tony Mark's Garden for the floral arrangements. We're told Candy dropped a cool mil on the affair. But a family friend tells TMZ, Tori felt utterly shortchanged. The friend tells TMZ that Tori thought the wedding "wasn't big enough."
Candy, on the other hand, felt slighted that Tori did not include enough of Candy's friends on the guest list. The two fought the entire time leading up to the wedding, at times not speaking to each other.
Britney, K-Fed Wedding Invite On eBay
For the starting price of $999.99, you could own a piece of pop princess history.
An eBay auction has surfaced with what appears to be the invitation to the nuptials of Britney Spears and her hubby Kevin Federline. But wait... there's more! With your purchase you also get a candle with the happy couples' initials on it.
According to the seller, 24/7 Auctions, the invitation and candle are from a guest who went to the wedding. The invitation has the guest's name on it, and said guest took the candle off one of the tables at the wedding. A spokesperson for 24/7 wouldn't disclose the name of the guest, though the guest has assured the seller that the items are authentic.
For the ultimate Britney fan this is the steal of the century... unless of course little Sean Preston's birth certificate finds its way onto eBay.
