Jeff Corwin thinks humans are looking too far back for species to save ... noting it's a substantial scientific achievement to bring dire wolves back -- but, there are a lot of endangered species who are currently in dire need of help.

The wildlife conservationist joined us on "TMZ Live" Wednesday ... and, he ran us through the particulars of bringing dire wolves back from extinction -- likening part of the process to the how scientists brought dinosaurs back in "Jurassic Park."

Corwin explains these aren't purebred dire wolves ... but, they're about as close as humans can get given they died out more than 10,000 years ago.

Mickey Rourke's facing expulsion from "Celebrity Big Brother" after making a series of offensive comments ... including firing off a gay slur at JoJo Siwa.

The actor was pulled aside in the house to speak in the Diary Room on the U.K. version of the show ... with 'Big Brother' telling him the show found the language he used "unacceptable."

Earlier in the episode, Mickey asked Siwa -- who came out as gay in 2021 -- if she liked boys or girls. When JoJo said her partner was nonbinary, Mickey replied she wouldn't be gay anymore if he stays longer than four days ... basically claiming he could turn her straight.

On Instagram, the company posted its awkward reaction to the show’s finale, attributing to  the close connection with the flavors they announced in early January. ICYDK, a beverage plays a significant part toward the end.

"White Lotus" creator Mike White is ripping the show's composer for quitting the series and running to the media to crap all over him ... calling it a "bitch move."

Mike chopped it up with Howard Stern on Tuesday and he unloaded on former 'Lotus' composer Cristóbal Tapia de Veer, who composed the show's catchy theme song.

Cristóbal ripped Mike and announced his departure from the franchise in an interview with The New York Times a few days before the Season 3 finale aired ... and that's not sitting well with Mike.

"The White Lotus" season finale was full of jaw-dropping twists ... but one of the biggest got scrapped.

Mike White, the writer/creator of HBO's hit series, revealed on "The White Lotus Official Podcast" that Piper Ratliff and Zion Lindsey were originally supposed to have a surprising sex scene in the last episode.

The two characters, played by Sarah Catherine Hook and Nicholas Duvernay, never encountered one another during the show ... but according to White, Piper was supposed to lose her virginity to Zion.

Jay North -- a veteran actor who played the eponymous character in the 1960s sitcom "Dennis the Menace" -- has died ... TMZ has confirmed.

Laurie Jacobson -- a longtime friend of North and wife to "Lassie" actor Jon Provost -- tells TMZ ... Jay passed away Sunday at his home in Lake Butler, Florida after a battle with colorectal cancer.

We're told his health started to deteriorate over the past month, and he was surrounded by family -- his wife Cindy and her daughters from a previous marriage, which we're told he "adored" -- when he passed.

"Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson is not doing well amid his battle with Alzheimer’s ... and his son Jase says there's no reason to sugarcoat the topic.

Here's the deal ... late last year, Jase made the sad announcement that Phil had Alzheimer’s ... and the 78-year-old’s condition was rough. Since then, he's asked daily about his dad by fans.

"The No. 1 question I get everywhere I go: ‘How’s your dad doing?’” Jase said on the April 2 episode of the "Unashamed with the Robertson Family" podcast. “Now, I’m just giving the blunt truth: I say, ‘Not good.’”

Manuel Masalva -- an actor best known for his role in "Narcos: Mexico" -- is in a coma because of an infection ... this according to fellow actor Mario Morán.

Morán announced the news in a TikTok posted Thursday ... telling fans he'd contracted a "very aggressive virus" while on vacation.

Masalva was taken to the hospital and put in a medically induced coma, Morán says in Spanish ... before calling his situation "delicate."

Audri DuBois -- the original Yellow Power Ranger in the pilot episode -- tells the story on the next episode of "Hollywood Demons" titled "Dark Side of the Power Rangers" ... explaining the OG episode was shot in the desert in 110-degree heat.

DuBois says one of the actors -- playing a villainous character -- was decked out in a wetsuit and rubber mask ... and, he suffered heatstroke mid-shoot, collapsing to the ground.

Gayle King is catching some flak online after casually using a gay slur on live TV ... throwing it out in the middle of a joke she was quoting.

The TV host was interviewing Matteo Lane -- a well-known author and comedian -- on "CBS Mornings" about his new book "Your Pasta Sucks: A Cookbook" ... when she quoted one of Lane's jokes back at him.

King says, "Can we talk about the stand-up? Can I just say one joke? I hope I don't get in trouble. You do a riff about white women who approached you, and they said something about cooking, and you said, 'What in the f****try are you talking about?'"

Here's the first look at Jason Clarke in character as Alex Murdaugh on the set of an upcoming Hulu series about some infamous murders.

Jason is starring in "The Murdaugh Murders" alongside Patricia Arquette as Alex's wife, Maggie Murdaugh.

Hulu's limited series is based off Mandy Matney's investigative reporting on the Murdaugh murder case ... and it's being filmed at Assembly Studios in Atlanta.
