People close to Jill have told us they strongly dispute accusations that her comments were insensitive, insisting anyone who personally knows her would say that characterization is unfair.

Jill Zarin suffered a huge own goal today ... the original "The Real Housewives of New York City" cast member was fired from E! reunion show "The Golden Life" following a wild tirade against Bad Bunny's Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Blink49 Studios -- the production company behind "The Golden Life" -- issued a statement to TMZ, writing ... "In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, Blink49 Studios has decided not to move forward with her involvement in ‘The Golden Life.’ We remain committed to delivering the series in line with our company standards and values.”

A source close to the situation tells TMZ ... the cast had been warned not to say or do anything controversial, and while the women were initially excited about the show, Jill's actions have dampened the mood though the other women understand why she was fired.

Jill's controversial comments were made in an Instagram post, which she deleted, but users later reposted on X.

Hoda Kotb returned to "Today" on Friday ... and said the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie's mother Nancy are "breaking my heart."

The television anchor -- who anchored "Today" with Savannah from 2018 to 2025 -- had plenty to say about her former co-host's missing mother.

Everyone is "hoping and praying for Nancy’s safe return." Hoda added ... "There’s been a massive show of support, from vigils to people offering positive thoughts online and just a lot of hope."

Matt James has some thoughts on Chris Harrison's return to the dating-show world years after "The Bachelor" blew up in his face ... and let’s just say, he’s already handing over a rose to the host, who he calls the "GOAT."

Charles C. Stevenson Jr. -- the actor most famous for playing Smitty the bartender on "Will & Grace" -- has died.

He died of natural causes on Jan. 19 in Camarillo, California, his son Scott confirmed to TMZ. Variety was first to report the news.

Aside from playing the beloved barman, Stevenson was known for portraying preachers, priests, and pastors in supporting roles throughout his decades-long career.

Dave Coulier -- who played Uncle Joey on "Full House" -- is a 2-time cancer survivor ... and he told us the key to his success in fighting the monstrous disease.

When we caught him out in NYC today, Dave told us ... "Early detection is everything, so talk to your doctors. Get those PET scans, get those MRIs, get those CT scans, because it can save your life. I'm living proof of that."
