Selena Gomez and her mother, Mandy Teefey, deceived investors into pouring over a million dollars into their business ... while the company was secretly crumbling from within and Mandy struggled with a drug problem ... this according to a new lawsuit.

TMZ obtained a lawsuit filed by two companies, Wondermind SRS 44 LLC and Bespoke Wondermind LLC, over the pop star's mental health company, Wondermind Global. The companies are suing Wondermind itself, Selena, Mandy, and their former business partner, Daniella Pierson.

The companies claim Selena and her mom made false representations about the infrastructure, leadership, and resources necessary for the company to launch into a profitable platform ... all to get investments from them. The companies say they invested over $1 million ... based on Selena making the rounds on TV shows and speaking in interviews about the business.

A surrogate who refused to abort the baby she was carrying -- despite the wishes of the boy’s biological parents -- reportedly gave birth early Wednesday amid a bitter legal battle with the intended parents.

Here's the sitch -- McKenna West, a surrogate from Alaska, was carrying a baby for a California couple. At the fetus' 20-week scan, doctors discovered it had hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), a rare birth defect where the left side of the heart does not grow correctly ... and it needs 3 surgeries to correct when the child is born, per Boston Children's Hospital.

The surrogacy agreement had a clause that allowed the couple to choose to terminate the pregnancy if there was an "anomaly" found ... but McKenna refused and fled to Texas, where she would be seen as the birth mother, The Dallas Morning News reports.

Saucy Santana is sharing his thoughts on the ongoing debate over transgender women competing in women's professional sports ... calling on the WNBA to make a decision.

We got the rapper in New York City and asked him about the possibility of trans women playing in the WNBA ... and he told us, "trans women are women."

Michael Jackson's estate won a huge victory in court against four siblings who claimed the King of Pop raped and molested them as children ... TMZ has learned.

A federal judge in California ruled Wednesday the "horrific" allegations the Cascio siblings -- Edward, Dominic, Marie-Nicole and Aldo -- made against Michael in their bombshell child sex trafficking lawsuit against the MJ estate must be handled in private arbitration, rather than a courtroom.

In the decision, the judge found the 2019 settlement between the two parties -- which clearly stated that all disputes would be resolved in private arbitration -- is enforceable and left the court with no choice but to send the case to arbitration.

Lauren Boebert’s son Tyler Boebert accepted a plea deal from prosecutors in his child abuse case that could end up with him serving some jail time ... TMZ has learned.

According to court docs obtained by TMZ, the Weld County District Attorney’s Office offered a deal in which Tyler would plead guilty to the charges of child abuse/negligence without injury.

The District Attorney said it suggested the court sentence Tyler to a cap of 30 days in jail and 12-month supervised probation.

The prosecutors also want him to complete a parenting program.

The WNBA is blasting "bad-faith efforts" to push a narrative about transgender women competing in the league ... after ex-NBA players Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White claimed they're women and vowed to enter next year's WNBA Draft.

The WNBA held an anti-hate task force meeting Wednesday to discuss trans athletes ... and afterward, a league spokesperson said general managers and presidents came to the conclusion that there "are no immediate eligibility matters affecting the WNBA," adding ... "we strongly denounce the bad-faith efforts to use these topics to demean or marginalize others."

So, it sounds like Enes and Royce won't be entering the Draft after all.

The WNBA noted they will "continue to engage all league stakeholders in the coming weeks and months" and "will approach these important conversations thoughtfully and in alignment with the values of our league."

A Texas high school teacher broke down in tears on video while describing his students' lack of education after they couldn't complete a reading and writing task.

Darius Williams, a teacher at Wheatley High School in Houston, posted the video on Instagram after he completed a three-hour class with seniors who are about to go off to college next year.

In the clip, Williams starts weeping because he says his students cannot read or write -- even when he gives them help to complete the assignments.
