Jacqueline Falk -- the adopted daughter of legendary "Columbo" actor Peter Falk -- died this week after taking her own life ... TMZ has learned.

According to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner's Office, Jacqueline hanged herself in a Los Angeles home Monday. It's unclear if she left a note.

Her dad, Peter, married Alyce Mayo in 1960, and the couple adopted 2 daughters -- Jacqueline and Catherine.

Ex-Atlanta Hawks Vice President of Finance Lester T. Jones, Jr. has been sentenced to more than three years in prison ... after embezzling $3.7 million in team money and charging luxurious vacations and jewelry purchases to the company credit card, officials announced.

U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg went IN on the 46-year-old former exec on Wednesday ... saying, "Jones turned his dream job as a high-ranking executive for the Atlanta Hawks into an opportunity to steal the team’s funds, purchasing luxury apparel, jewelry, watches, and trips for himself."

“But, for Jones and others who abuse their employers’ trust to embezzle substantial funds, the gravy train’s final destination is federal prison.”

Lil Tjay claims he's not at odds with Offset despite the recent shooting that's under federal investigation.

We caught up with Tjay Tuesday in Beverly Hills and when he was asked if there's any bad blood with Offset, he kept it simple saying he has no beef with anybody.

Tjay didn't seem interested in fueling any drama, instead shifting focus to his music ... telling us his new album drops May 1 and teasing it's packed with a lot of controversial stuff. His message to fans? Make sure to stream it.

As we reported ... according to the FBI and the Seminole Police Department, Offset got into a brawl with a large group -- including rapper Lil Tjay, who was later arrested in relation to the fight -- outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Florida on the night of April 6.

Cops said the fight escalated when one of the assailants pulled a gun and shot Offset before the subjects tried but failed to steal Offset's watch. The FBI says the suspects then jumped inside the SUVs and took off.

Huge legal win for Steven Tyler ... the woman suing him for allegedly sexually assaulting her over 50 years ago when she was 16 years old just had her lawsuit against him whittled down significantly.

Julia Holcomb is suing the legendary Aerosmith frontman over a years-long relationship back in the day ... she filed her lawsuit in California and included a bunch of claims about sexual encounters in various states ... but now a judge has ruled only one claim from an alleged incident in California can remain as the case moves forward ... according to new legal docs obtained by TMZ. The judge ruled the alleged instances of sex in other states -- such as Massachusetts and Oregon -- cannot move forward in a California court.

Steven's attorney, David Long-Daniels, tells TMZ ... "This is a massive win for Steven Tyler. Today, the court has dismissed with prejudice 99.9% of the claims against Mr. Tyler in this case. The court has decided that only one night fifty-plus years ago out of a three-year relationship is allowed to remain. We look forward to trying this case on August 31."

Jesse Lally says his ex Michelle Saniei's romance with Dr. Dre came out of nowhere ... claiming he doesn't even think his former flame has ever listened to rap music!

A Pennsylvania man killed his high school sweetheart, then took his own life in a shocking murder-suicide.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, 26-year-old Ryan Hosso shot his wife, Madeline Spatafore, inside their home in Butler, PA early Tuesday morning.

Cops say he called his parents and confessed to killing Spatafore. They say he also threatened to end his own life during the call.
