Jon Gosselin is saying that he wants his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin, to be criminally charged ... after their son, Collin Gosselin, claimed Kate abused him when he was growing up.

Jon mentioned potential criminal charges when reacting to Kate's suggestion that Collin's claims were somehow influenced by a mental illness.

He told Entertainment Tonight ... "She needs to stop. He is not mentally ill. I would definitely have grounds to sue Kate for defamation and libel. I don't even think it's suing. I think it's just criminal charges. So, that's up to the state."

Russell Brand's trial is getting more disturbing ... with a woman telling jurors her friend was left in so much pain after an alleged anal rape that she couldn't even sit down.

According to the BBC, the woman testified via video link and told the court her friend was crying and extremely upset when she told her about the alleged 2009 encounter with Brand.

The witness said the alleged victim met Brand after one of his comedy shows at London's Hammersmith Apollo before later visiting his home, where she claims a consensual sexual encounter turned into rape.
