John Davidson's Tourette's tic -- which resulted in the disability activist screaming out a racial slur during an awards broadcast -- isn't necessarily about his true feelings coming out ... so says a reality star with firsthand knowledge of the disorder.

Baylen Dupree -- star of the hit show "Baylen Out Loud" -- released a statement Tuesday about Sunday's incident ... saying she felt she needed to say something as a person who deals with tics as well.

Baylen writes these verbal tics are not thoughts, opinions, or beliefs hidden deep beneath the surface -- they are involuntary impulses -- no different than a hiccup or a sneeze.

PEOPLE'S CHOICE VS BAFTAS POLAR OPPOSITE WINNERS ... 'Barbenheimer' Divides Award Season!

Published | Updated

The People's Choice Awards and the BAFTAs weren't on the same page this year ... with such different winners, it just goes to show -- awards season is unpredictable as hell.

Margot Robbie strutted away with Best Actress for "Barbie" at the PCAs in L.A while Emma Stone snagged the same honor for "Poor Things" at the UK's BAFTAs -- both of which went down on Sunday, BTW.

Then we have Best Actor ... Ryan Gosling Ken-ergized his way to victory on the west coast, while across the pond, Cillian Murphy walked away with the prize for "Oppenheimer."

For Best Film, "Oppenheimer" won at BAFTAs, while "Barbie" stole the show at the PCAs.

Christopher Nolan's directing for "Oppenheimer" earned him a trophy in the British capital, but interestingly there wasn't a directing category at the PCAs -- but if there was, it's safe to say, it'd go to, drumroll please ... Greta Gerwig for "Barbie!!"

In fact, life in plastic was so fantastic for "Barbie" at the People's Choice that it walked away with most of the awards it was up for. But, the movie couldn't catch a break at the BAFTAs ... losing out on all five of its nominations and getting completely shut out.

Of course, the People's Choice winners are picked by average everyday folks -- a popularity contest, really -- in contrast to the academy members ... and given the record-breaking numbers "Barbie" pulled last summer, it's no surprise it reigned supreme at the event.

The main takeaways from this? One person's no is another person's yes ... and the Oscars race seems to be wide open.

BAFTAs Prankster Crashes 'Oppenheimer' Win ... Stands Onstage w/ Crew

Published | Updated

A random dude crashed the stage at the BAFTAs -- where Christopher Nolan and other 'Oppenheimer' heads were after a major win -- and now ... the showrunners are pissed.

This awkward moment went down Sunday during the big British award show -- the Oscars, basically, for the UK -- and it happened right at the end of the show when 'Oppenheimer' won Best Film and a bunch of cast and crew members went up to accept.

CN obviously went up, as did Cillian Murphy and other producers for the film ... but there was one straggler who ran up onstage well after them -- and he definitely didn't belong.

The guy stood out like a sore thumb, just quietly standing in the back of the group and not batting an eyelash -- maintaining his composure and keeping up with the façade. Nobody said anything about him being there either ... including Cillian, who was right next to him.

The acceptance speech came and went, and this prankster didn't really cause much of a scene at all ... but that's not to say the BAFTAs people weren't angry, 'cause they were.

A rep for the org says ... "A social media prankster was removed by security last night after joining the winners of the final award on stage -- we are taking this very seriously, and don’t wish to grant him any publicity by commenting further."

They don't name him, but he's pretty easy to find online -- dude goes by the name of Lizwani ... and he does this crap pretty often. He's slinked his way into a number of award shows in Britain over the years ... and often documents it on his social channels.

No harm, no foul ... well, actually -- the BAFTAs clearly feel very differently about that. 😅
