Put down your popcorn ... Stephen A. Smith says he will NOT accept Glenn Robinson's invitation to fight him in a MMA cage match -- after Glenn called him out on "TMZ Sports."

Smith just appeared on "First Take" and actually APOLOGIZED to the former NBA star for dragging him back into the headlines by going public with their decade-long feud on a radio interview last week.

But it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows ... Smith made it clear the two sides hate each other -- will ALWAYS hate each other -- and he insists the allegations he made about Robinson being a racial hypocrite are 100% true.

As for the offer to fight it out once and for all ... Smith says "the street in me" wanted to handle it one way ... but the "grown man" in him convinced him to go another direction.

Smart move ...

Nobody wants to be like the Kardashian family because they're "trash" and they're taking advantage of America ... so says UFC Hall of Famer Matt Hughes.

Seriously, this guy HATES 'em.

So, why the hostility? Hughes goes into great detail ... outlining why they're a trainwreck family and "nobody wants to be like them."

The funny part ... despite the intense hatred, his own wife watches the show (and so does he!).

Maino says he's got a real problem with Adrien Broner doing "stupid s**t" -- like making it rain in a Walmart line.

The video that pissed Maino off was footage Broner posted on social media last week -- in which the boxer throws money in the air at a Walmart (in front of other people in line) saying he's too rich to need change.

"It's one thing to throw money in a strip club," Maino said ... "but it's another to be standing in line and throwing money up when you got regular people, every day working class mothers and working class fathers on the line."

Maino kept insisting he has no lingering "beef" with Broner -- but this clearly rubbed the dude the wrong way.

The Westboro Baptist Church is just a bunch of "awful people" ... and Charles Barkley says he hopes they all get their asses kicked for boycotting an openly gay basketball player.

We asked Sir Charles how he felt about the church targeting Seton Hall's Derrick Gordon -- the first openly gay man to play in the NCAA tournament ... and Chuck went off!!!

"I really hate them sumbitches," Barkley said ... "Hopefully, somebody will beat the hell out of those Westboro people."

Tyga's cruise ship performance ended with a bang, a full-on fight between his hype man, DJ S.B. and one of the guys from EDM trio Cash Cash -- what's up for debate is ... who started it.

Things went south early Saturday morning aboard the Inception at Sea cruise festival. Tyga started his set more than an hour late ... which eventually postponed Cash Cash, which was going on after him.

Sources close to Tyga tell TMZ ... when he wrapped up, the Cash Cash guys began unplugging S.B.'s gear. That sparked a verbal dispute, and then Jean Paul Makhlouf allegedly threw the first punch.

Now, the Cash Cash guys admit there was a verbal altercation, but claim Tyga's crew struck first. Makhlouf suffered a concussion, injured kidney and several bruises, according to his rep. Cash Cash was unable to perform.

No one's talking lawsuit ... yet, anyway.

We're told Tyga had nothing to do with the fight, he was already offstage.

Looks like Terrell Owens is taking the high road in his beef with Marvin Harrison ... even though he's yet to get an apology.

Owens was arriving at Staples Center Sunday for the Clippers game -- and we asked if he thinks Harrison owes him a "my bad" for ripping Owens over this year's Hall of Fame voting results ... Harrison got in, T.O. didn't.

If Matt Barnes and Derek Fisher decide to settle their beef with one final UFC-style fight -- J.R. Smith wants a ticket ... telling TMZ Sports, "I would love to see that."

Smith even did some fight analysis ... breaking down the strengths of both guys.

"It would be a good one," said Smith ... who actually played for Fisher on the Knicks last season.

Of course, Fisher brought the feud back in the headlines Thursday -- saying he was essentially attacked by Barnes and refused to retaliate. He also said Barnes was NEVER his friend.

Derek Fisher is breaking his silence on his violent altercation with Matt Barnes -- claiming he wouldn't call it a fight ... because he was ATTACKED and refused to fight back.

Lisa Ling is taking a huge shot at Caitlyn Jenner for shading presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

We asked Lisa, a staunch Hillary supporter, about Caitlyn's comment on her show ... that Hillary cares more about herself than other women.

Caitlyn got all political during the season 2 premiere of "I Am Cait" -- but Lisa thinks Jenner needs to step out of the political arena ... at least where Hillary's concerned.

Terry Crews thinks the war of words between Justin Bieber and Nate Diaz should be a WAR OF FISTS ... saying he firmly believes the best way for the men to settle their beef is to throw down!!!

Crews was out at Craig's when we asked how the guys in Hollywood's newest celebrity feud should settle their beef ... a beef that started when Bieber dissed Diaz's fighting style on social media.

Of course, Diaz fired back on the "TMZ Sports" TV show -- saying, "F**k that fool."

But Terry -- who stars in "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" -- says the time for talk is OVER and it's time for the guys to settle it like men ... IN THE OCTAGON!!!!

Holly Holm's manager says Dana White "hates my guts" for allowing Holly to fight Miesha Tate before a Rousey rematch ... telling TMZ Sports, "It's personal."

White went on ESPN Tuesday and trashed Lenny Fresquez -- saying, "He's an old boxing guy who thinks he's smart, and he's not."

White added, "I don't know if Holly really knows what she lost. I think she has so much faith in the people that surround her, she feels like, 'Well, they got me this far.'"

Now, Fresquez is firing back ... telling TMZ Sports the idea he forced Holly to fight Miesha is "ludicrous."

"I didn't make Holly fight Miesha. Holly is the boss. I work for her. We gave her the different options. Fight Miesha in March. Wait for Ronda in November or December. She said, 'I don't want to wait. I want to fight.'"

As for Dana's comments, Fresquez says ... "Dana hates my guts. It's personal. How could it be my fault? Holly is the boss."

When contacted by TMZ Sports, Dana White explained, "When we met with them [Holly] wasn’t even in the meeting. Holly wasn’t present when we were talking about her money or any of it. It's Holly’s life, and Holly’s career. She should have been in the meeting too."

After the fight, Fresquez says Holly addressed the team and took full responsibility -- "Holly told us, 'I'm not Monday morning quarterbacking anything. Everyone did their job except me.'"

As for her next fight, Fresquez says Holly wants a rematch with Miesha -- "We'd like to fight Miesha at UFC 200 in July. Then fight Ronda in November."

Justin Bieber is in a brand new celebrity feud ... with UFC superstar Nate Diaz!!!

Here's the deal ... after the fight, Bieber praised Conor McGregor on social media -- posting a photo of the guy with the caption, "Still the champ."

Then he posted video of a toast he made to Conor saying, "To McGregor. He's still the champ. That broke my heart."

He added, "No bandwagon but Conor is a true champion, fights with style and finesse, all the respect to Nate but his style is terrible. Nate has crazy heart respect."

So, how did Nate Diaz react???

He posted a image on Instagram showing him slapping Bieber in the face with the caption, "Shut your bitch ass up."

He added the caption, "Bieber's a hater."

Bette Midler gifted Kim Kardashian with a tree years ago before turning Kim's Instagram nude into a punchline ... TMZ has learned.

By now you know Kim took extreme exception to Bette's cyber-jab -- saying, "hey @BetteMidler I really didn't want to bring up how you sent me a gift awhile back trying to be a fake friend then come at me."

Now, we know ... that "gift" was a tree that Bette planted in Kim's honor as part of Bette's New York Restoration Project.

Bette dedicated one of the trees to Kim when she launched her MillionTreesNYC initiative in 2007 -- and even sent Kim a handwritten note.

We're told Kim believed the gesture was a friendship branch ... until Bette mocked her on Twitter.

As for Bette, she just fired back at Kim saying, "I never tried to fake friend you. Looks like anyone can take a selfie but not everyone can take a joke."

Mariah Carey was in a bad mood Monday night, and she took it out on mortal enemy Jennifer Lopez.

We got Mariah leaving The Beverly Hilton hotel when she reaffirmed her dislike for J Lo, in the most high school of ways. She's said it before, and is not backing down.

As for why Mariah's mood was sour ... we're told the limo that was supposed to take her to the event honoring Brett Ratner bailed on her. Seems she was her typical late self, so she had to take a Lyft.

May the feud never die!

Kim Kardashian went on the counterattack Monday night after she was called on the carpet for posting a bangin' nude pic that turned out to be a year old.

Kim went in for the kill with Bette Midler, who tweeted earlier, "If Kim wants us to see a part of her we've never seen, she's gonna have to swallow the camera."

Kim's response ... "I really didn't want to bring up how you sent me a gift awhile back trying to be a fake friend then come at me #dejavu."

It didn't stop there. Chloe Moretz tweeted, "I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than just our bodies."

Kim's response ... "Let's all welcome @ChloeGMoretz to Twitter, since no one knows who she is. your nylon cover is cute boo."

And then there's Piers Morgan, who tweeted, "I know the old man's $50 million in debt, Kim -- but this is absurd. Want me to buy you some clothes?"

Kim had some choice words for him, first, "Hey @piersmorgan never offer to buy a married woman clothes. thats on some ashley madison type s--." And get a load of her not-so-humble brag, "sorry I'm late to the party guys. I was busy cashing my 80 million video game check and transferring 53 million into our joint account."

So no doubt ... the winners, Bette, Chloe and Piers. They got all up on Kim's twitter.

Kim posted this pic Monday night, and we're taking a wild guess but we think this one's also old.

Daniel Cormier says Jon Jones' good guy image is all BS -- claiming Jon privately called him the "biggest p***y he ever met" and told him to "suck his d***."

It all went down at a UFC media event in Vegas -- with DC saying that Jon is a fraud ... and hasn't learned a damn thing from all of his issues outside of the Octagon.

Jon took exception and they went off on each other ... insane.
